1 | marry or not | Eph 5:3 | Edwin | 236908
Preparing for Marriage The following verses will I am sure be of help. Eph 5:22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. Eph 5:23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Eph 5:24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in everything. Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, Eph 5:28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself Eph 5:29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord [does] the church. Eph 5:30 For we are members of His body, [fn] of His flesh and of His bones. Eph 5:31 "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." [fn] Eph 5:32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Eph 5:33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife [see] that she respects [her] husband. 1Pe 3:1 Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, 1Pe 3:2 when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear. 1Pe 3:3 Do not let your adornment be merely outward--arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel-- 1Pe 3:4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. 1Pe 3:5 For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, 1Pe 3:6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror. 1Pe 3:7 Husbands, likewise, dwell with [them] with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as [being] heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. Gen 2:18 Then the Lord God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone: When the Lord made Adam He endowed him with certain of, but not all of the Divine qualities. When He made Eve He endowed her with the remainder of His qualities, a different set, His intention being that when they came together as, "one flesh", this new man/woman unit would posses, "all", of the Divine qualities The expression, "one flesh", although including sexual union, means a great deal more than that. The woman is complementary to the man, she is neither superior, nor inferior, she is his equal, it is God's intention that each should put the other before self, and endeavor to behave towards each other as, 1Cr 13:4 Love suffers long [and] is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 1Cr 13:5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 1Cr 13:6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 1Cr 13:7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Every blessing to you both. Edwin. |

2 | what will happen to our soul after death | Bible general Archive 4 | Edwin | 236907
I was once asked, "What sort of bodies will we have in Heaven ?" My reply was. 1 Corinthians 15:50-54 says, "that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God " All that this verse is telling me is that the body I now have cannot be taken to Heaven, the spiritual kingdom, to participate there, and that I will be given a new body, which will be able to take part there, and for this reason it is referred to as a spiritual body.. The fact that it is referred to as a spiritual body, does not mean that it is not a physical body. I take at face value what God said at. Phl 3:21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself." , and also at. Jhn 20:14 Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. Jhn 20:15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, "Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away." Jhn 20:16 Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him,[fn1] "Rabboni!" (which is to say, Teacher). Jhn 20:19 Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled,[fn3] for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, "Peace be with you." Luk 24:30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Luk 24:31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. Luk 24:36 Now as they said these things Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, "Peace to you." Luk 24:37 But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. Luk 24:38 And He said to them, "Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? Luk 24:39 "Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have." Luk 24:41 But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, "Have you any food here?" Luk 24:42 So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.[fn7] Luk 24:43 And He took it and ate in their presence. Mar 16:12 After that, He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country. Jhn 20:22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. Because of the above, I believe that when my now regenerated spirit indwells my yet future new resurrection body, that. 1. When my friends meet me for the first time they will not recognize me, but as soon as I speak, they will know it is me. 2. That I will be able to pass through solid matter. 3. That I will be able to disappear, and reappear, at will. 4. That my new body will have flesh and bones. 5. That my new body will have internal organs, stomach, intestines, there will be a need to take in nutriment. 6. That I will be able to appear in another form. 7. That I will have lungs, and be able to breath. Unless of course you feel that these 7 points are for Jesus only, and that my new resurrection body will not in fact be, "like his glorious body", Bless you. Edwin. |
