The problem with your argument is "works of law" and "The Law" are not the same thing. As MJH has attempted to explain, Galatians is not about circumcision per se, but ritual conversion to Judaism. If that were the case, Paul would never circumcised Timothy. Without a proper understanding of the complexities of 1st Century Judaism (of which The Way was a sect--not a completely new religion), most of the New Testament is doomed to be misinterpreted. |

Greetings, I am new here and I usually lurk a while before posting, but I felt the need to jump in here. First off, I guess I don't understand your sarcasm. (My guess is you are not really interested in learning, but rather "schooling" people) Secondly, there is no command in the Torah for any one individual to build a Tabernacle, and to do so is actually prohbiited (although you are correct in stating that is why sacrifices are no longer offered). Thirdly, please provide evidence from the Bible of your theological presupposition of "dispensations." (Hint: there are none) Lastly, so by your last comment, if someone doesn't experience something for themselves personally, one is not obligated to believe and/or follow it? |
