I agree this is an example of the true intentions of our hearts. The first son showed a rebellious spirit by saying "No", then after a while, he got bored or something so he thought "Well I've got nothing better to do, I might as well do what my father wanted." The second son, however, was willing to be obedient and please his father, but was probably distracted by something, so did not go. The chief priests did not look at the intentions of the heart, but just at the results. GOD looks at the heart. David truly wanted to build the temple with all his heart, GOD wouldn't let him, but allowed him the preparation for it and was pleased that David was a man after HIS own heart. | ||||||
