It is sometimes necessary that we "walk that extra mile" with these persons to encourage them to remain steadfast in the word of God, to TRUST HIS word that He will be with them every step of the way, and not to abandon (fall away) from their belief in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Too often we "cut loose" those who, after being saved, show some inclination of disbelief or discontentment about the Christian walk. That is when they need us the most...to fortify them from the arrows of the Devil, and help them to rebuild on their weak foundation a reconfirmation of God's saving grace to all who will come to Him and ask. I believe that your statement "if the one that will receive this Biblical help isn't a believer, that anything that you could give them from the Bible, other than the gospel really wouldn't do them any good anyway" is a bit misleading. True, sometimes you will be told to take your bible babble and.......! However, in the darkest hours of one's deliberations, one answer could very well be an introduction to the One who heals all wounds, mends all broken hearts, and welcomes all the destressed souls into His loving, compasionate arms to wipe away all their tears and make them a "new person" in the name of Jesus Christ. There is always a possibility that you will plant the "seed", and God will provide the harvest, and they will BECOME A BELIEVER. Centurian.... | ||||||
