3 | Scriptural basis? | 2 Pet 2:4 | CAPTJFB | 231799
'There is no mention in scripture of angels being given the opportunity of redemption which was given to man.' ---???? Did you actually read my response? Because he came off the victor through faithful endurance, the Son of God, as a spirit person, was able to proclaim a message of JUDGMENT against the “spirits in prison.” Since the disobedience of these spirits is linked with the time of Noah, they must be the angelic sons of God who left their original dwelling place in the heavens and took up living as husbands with women. (Genesis 6:1-4)Jude 6 They are spoken of as “spirits in prison” because their punishment included a form of restraint, being forever debarred from their original place among the faithful angels. The words of Jude confirm that only a message of condemnatory judgment could be directed to these fallen angels: “And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day.” (Jude 6) It was Jesus’ faithful endurance to the very death that entitled him to be restored to life and thus put him in a position to preach or proclaim such a condemnatory judgment to the fallen angels. Any readers following this discussion..please comment on what you think of it? READ ALL the scriptures cited please. : Why would Peter link Noah to the "spirits in Prison"?? Many had died up until the time of Christ Also compare Eccl 9:5 |

4 | Scriptural basis? | 2 Pet 2:4 | CAPTJFB | 231780
Well, Jesus said that in the last days it would be like Noah's day "Men marrying and women being given in marriage",since it was so natural,...so why might Moses under inspiration single out these ones at Gen 6:1,4 ALSO, who do you believe were the ones spoken of at 1 Peter 3:19,20--I'm curious?
5 | Scriptural basis? | 2 Pet 2:4 | CAPTJFB | 231773
"Their angelic fathers dematerialized and unwillingly, under compulsion, disappeared into the spirit realm. Okay, first of all do you believe the Bible teaches that the Nephilm were the offspring of the Sons of God? (Disobedient angels)Gen 5:4 If so, consider: The angelic Fathers of the Nephilm left their heavenly position and "chose" wives for themselves Gen 6:2 no doubt with great joy --how "unwillingly" do you think they may have been to have to leave their wives and 'children' when the flood came? Job 1:6 shows that Satan and his demons were still able to go back to heaven. There they NO DOUBT joined Satan the Devil as their ruler--"the ruler of the demons" Matthew 12:24 |

6 | left behind/rapture | 1 Thessalonians | CAPTJFB | 231731
When the apostle Paul said that Christians would be “caught up” to be with the Lord, what subject was being discussed? 1 Thess. 4:13-18, RS: “We would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep [“those who sleep in death,” NE; “those who have died,” TEV, JB], that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. Evidently some members of the Christian congregation in Thessalonica had died. Paul encouraged the survivors to comfort one another with the resurrection hope. He reminded them that Jesus was resurrected after his death; so, too, at the coming of the Lord, those faithful Christians among them who had died would be raised to be with Christ. Who are the ones that will be ‘caught? Verse 15 explains that they are faithful ones “who are left until the coming of the Lord,” that is, they are still living at the time of Christ’s coming. Will they ever die? According to Romans 6:3-5 and 1 Corinthians 15:35, 36, 44 they must die before they can gain heavenly life. But there is no need for them to remain in the death state awaiting Christ’s return. They will instantly be “caught up,” “in the twinkling of an eye,” to be with the Lord.—1 Cor. 15:51, 52, RS; also Revelation 14:13. This is simply talking about the future resurrection hope(Acts 24:15) for those with the "Heavenly calling" Heb. 3:1 Remember Acts 24:15 was written many years after Christ returned to heaven. That there is no rapture is found in scriptures like Proverbs 2:21,22; Psalm 37: 10 11, 29 and notice Jesus' illustration as to who is first to be collected at the end of the age at Matthew 13:28-30 . . . |

(Genesis 6:22) And Noah proceeded to do according to all that God had commanded him. He did just so. (2 Peter 2:5) 5 and he did not hold back from punishing an ancient world, but kept Noah, a preacher of righteousness, safe with seven others when he brought a deluge upon a world of ungodly people; |
