Hi there Thanks for the response. I hear what you are saying but perhaps you should have a look a some of the Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Jerry Savelle material on healing/walking in divine health. Their books and tapes on this subject is really very interesting and eye opening. I have personally been extremely blessed by their material. Bless you Brenda |

Hi Bradk Thanks a lot, but the scripture that I am referring to in particular as I have said before is 1Peter 2:24 - I am sure there are a number of other scriptures as well, but this scripture in particular says "and by His stripes ye WERE healed". So if we WERE healed, we ARE healed and the provision has thus been made for us to walk in divine health. We just need to get a revelation of that word in our spirits. Brenda |

Hi BradK Sorry I think perhaps you misunderstood me. I never said that life was a bed of roses as a Christian and that we would never face any challenges. You are absolutely right - it is the challenges that build our character and our faith. What I did say is that it is not God's BEST that we suffer these things, that is why we are continually encouraged in the Word to build our faith. As God meets our needs (physical, spiritual or whatever) so our faith increases and so our understanding of the Character of God also increases. Yes we do get sick and the Word provides for our healing and we can be tremendous testimonies through this. However as our faith progresses, we can get to the stage where we are walking in divine health. According to the Word we don't have to get sick because Jesus paid the price, but unfortunately when we are born again we are still babes in Christ and there is so much to learn before we even get near maturity. Yes sure people do experience lack financially, but we can stand on the Word and trust God to provide and when he does, what a testimony and at the same time faith-building. I don't understand why certain things happen, however, at the same time I also believe that many times we bring things on ourselves by either not being sensitive to the Spirit or by not doing things in line with the Word, or by stepping out of the will of God. In all these instances we move out of the covering - See Psalm 91. However as I said there are a lot of things we don't understand at this stage, eg. why does someone who is really walking very closely with Lord get killed in a car accident or have a heart attack and die? I don't know, however that does not get my focus off His Word and His promises in His Word. Does what happened to some of the disciples or to some of the greatest men of God make the Word of no effect? I say with Paul "God forbid!" Brenda |

8 | who benefits most from prayer? | Bible general Archive 2 | Brendac | 115847
Hi EdB I agree that that guy was able to be a blessing in the situation, Praise God, however, it was not God's best for him to be without a car. I mean then one can say that God allowed someone to be sick so that they could go into hospital so that they could minister to the person in the bed next to them. How much more of a testimony would one be if they were walking according to 1 Peter 2:24 and going to the hospital walking in divine health and taking the gospel to those who are sick and telling them that they don't have to be sick because Jesus died for our sicknesses. How much more of a testimony would you be to others if you could tell them about your blessings and they can see the abundance in your life and see that you are favoured by God? I mean some people could say "well if that is the lack that God keeps them in I certainly don't want it thank you very much." Our God is the GREAT I AM, and He is the God who is MORE than enough, He is the God who supplies ALL our needs according to His riches in glory, He is the God that loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die for us. He has made provision for us in every area of our lives, we just need to accept it and take it and then go forward and be a great testimony and the greatest witness that we can possibly be as that was the great commandment - to bring to lost into the Kingdom of God. We need to be living the way Adam was before he sinned, and Adam lacked for nothing at that stage. So I continually pray the solution and thank God for the provisions that He has made for us in His Word!! Have a great day! Brenda |

Hi Ischus That is absolutely brilliant! However, where did you get that on Jehova not being Yahweh? We have been taught at Bible School that they are one and the same - the one Hebrew and the other English. I understand what you are saying about the scribes not using the name of God, but the fact that you say Jehova it is a combination of Adonai and Yahweh, that changes things somewhat. We have been told that Jehova/Yahweh means THE SELF-EXISTENT ONE, WHO REVEALS HIMSELF AND CHANGES NOT. Brenda |

12 | who benefits most from prayer? | Bible general Archive 2 | Brendac | 115729
Hi CDBJ Now you are talking about intercessory prayer. This is where we plead the case of someone else. In Romans 8:26 PC Nelson who was a noted liguist said that the Greek actually implies "with groanings that cannot be uttered in articulate speech." These groanings come from your spirit (from within)but to be effective has to come through the lips. Wilford Reidt said : "There will always be the need for the Holy Spirit to interceed with groanings. We may KNOW the will of God but only the Holy Spirit knows how to effectively present the need. There are circumstances in which we are not sure of how to pray. We need the groaning of the Holy Spirit in intercession." So this is for when we don't know how to pray in whatever situation. It is also for when we have a burden for someone and in most cases we don't know why we have the burden for a specific person, but then we can pray as per Romans 26, 27 and you will find many times afterwards that that person was in a particularly difficult situation or a crisis situation or whatever and we have then been the vessel used to basically rescue them from the situation. Normally in our own lives when we are unsure how or what to pray it is because we are seeking God's will in our lives (prayer of consecration) as I said before, however, if the solution to our problem is in the Word then we must stand on the Word and pray the Word. I mean if we are looking for employment God's Word provides for it because His Word says that a man who does not support his family is worse than an infidel and His Word also says that a workman is worthy of His meat. So we know that it is His will that we work. However, God knows which job would be the perfect one for us, so we need to leave that up to Him. Have a great day too! Brenda |

EdB I disagree, we should pray the solution rather than the problem. What I mean by that is we know that God's Word is His will. So if we pray the Word that is the solution we are praying God's will in our situation. In other words if we are ill we should be praying 1 Peter 2:24 for example. If we are in a financial pickle we should be praying Phil. 4:19 etc. It is good to spend time with the the Lord telling him what is bothering you, praising Him and just in general having a conversation or fellowship with Him etc. that builds your relationship with the Lord and that is when He speaks to us. Remember without faith we cannot please God, so we need to apply the Word to every situation in our lives and stand steadfast on that Word/Scripture. However, there is also the prayer of consecration where we have to ask that His will be done in a situation, i.e. application for a job, moving to another town/city etc. where we are dependent on God opening doors. I believe (my opinion) that prayer does do something as far as getting a love one saved is concerned, however, I believe our behaviour and the fruits that we bear plays a very large part in this. People must desire what we have. The word says that wives lead their husbands by their behaviour and their conversation. I cannot believe that that only applies to husbands but applies to all. So basically I don't believe that prayer on its own will do it, but the way we conduct ourselves also play a very large part. |

16 | what does prosperity or wealth mean in b | Bible general Archive 2 | Brendac | 115606
God desires for us to be prosperous in every area of our lives. In Philippians 4:19 He is referring to financial prosperity. In 3 John :2 He is referring to spiritual, financial and healthwise. Deut 8:18 - financial. Psalm 35:27 He take pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. This is also financial prosperity. However I was given a great explanation of prosperity some years ago and that is : Being able to meet ANY given need at ANY given time. We can hardly term ourselves prosperous if we are sick or battling financially, or having marital/family problems, not walking in the fruits of the Spirit. Not sure if I have been of assistance. |

17 | the meaning of name adonai | Bible general Archive 2 | Brendac | 115603
YAHWE (HEBREW) JEHOVA (ENGLISH) ā THE SELF-EXISTENT ONE, WHO REVEALS HIMSELF AND CHANGES NOT When Jehova is referred to in the Word, LORD is always written in capital letters. ADONAI ā MASTER, OWNER OR LORD When God is referred to as Adonai in the Word Lord is always written in lower case. Adonai can be applied to both God and man. When applied to man it is written with a lower case ālā and here it means master or husband. Yahweh doesn't refer to Adonai but to Jehova as above. |

18 | why don't people study the old testmant | Bible general Archive 2 | Brendac | 115602
I agree Ischus. I think we can also learn so much from the OT men of faith and how in their obedience they were blessed. Just take Joshua for example!! The OT also is a shadow of the NT and we will actually miss out on a lot in the NT by not studying the OT!! |
