1 | asking a non-member to leave the church, | NT general | tonkinj | 221695
This member went to church about six months and then was saved. Month later she was baptized. By her statement, she was living with a guy for about 13 years. When she was saved, she slept in the downstairs basement bedroom and he slept upstairs bedroom. (Remember he's not saved so please pray for him) There relation (over time) now isn't like a boyfriend / girlfriend but somewhat like a renter / border. She has prayed on this and has no conviction and I also been there and prayed and have no conviction. Our preacher at our church said it's convicting him and talked to her a couple of times. The first time they talked, the church revolked her membership and she had no problem with that. He did preach a sermom back in early November about continually living in sin. He asked if you are still doing this that you may want to leave the church because we are not helping you. (The sermon was more about living together) Three people left, but this women came back, she felt no conviction. After a few weeks the preacher talked to her and they agreed to put it up for a vote for her to leave. The voters are church members only. This didn't go to far as she stated she did not want to put the church in this predictiment. So she wont be back. My question is: What I'm I missing? Is the preacher right because I'm not understanding his meesage? He is a GOOD preacher but I dont know if he is right this time. He's getting his infomation from Mathew 18:15-17, 1Corinthians 5:2-13, 2Corinthians 2:5-8, 2Thessalonians 3:14-15, and Titus 3:10. I can see his point in one way but to me she needs church.
