2 | What is God's will for our lives? | Job 23:13 | prayon | 177468
HI Doc, I don't know if I necessarily believe that it was God's will that Joseph be sold into slavery. What motivated his brothers was not of God, and they are the ones that made the choice to sell him. I believe that Satan knew of the calling God had on Josephs life and tried to sabotage it just as he did by trying to kill all the boy babies in both Moses time and in Jesus' time. What I do know is that God will take any situation and turn it around for His glory. prayon

6 | ...the LORD blessed the sabbath ..holy" | Bible general Archive 3 | prayon | 172947
Greetings mbaska,I will leave doc to answer the question about labeling I will just say that I believe that the reason he referred you to the terms of use is because of the statement in your question ' "day was changed to Sunday" ... that is just a pure lie!! .. no Biblical proof .. don't go there ..' The wording is strong and some people can be offended by such a strong statement. We would love to answer your questions on the forum but please ask in a way as to not to offend any other member of the forum. Feel free to submit your question again stating in another manner such as Please Do not provide anything related to the "day was changed to Sunday" and omitting the personal opinions. Thanks and have a blessed day, prayon |

9 | EXPLAIN VERSE 10 IN MARK CHP:5 | Luke 4:34 | prayon | 171834
Greetings Romanz and welcome to the forum! There are different views as to what this verse means. One view is that they did not want to go back to perdiction from where they came from but that would not be sending them to another country. I believe that the word country should be taken literally. The area that they were in was Gadarenes which was a heathen country where the people did not know God.They wanted to stay in that country because they knew the dispositions and tempers of the people in the area. Their authority and power were great here and they could act with less restraint. They did not want to go to a new place that might of been full of Christians where they would not of had the same authority. prayon

Greetings Doc, James was written first - between 44-49 AD while Galations wasn't written until after the Jewish Council in 49AD. Also Acts was believed to be written around 60AD before the persecution of Nero and the fall of Jerusalem while 1Peter was believed to of been written shortly before or after the city of Rome burned in July 64AD. prayon |

13 | Differences in meaning of Romans 2:12 ? | Rom 2:12 | prayon | 165748
That is a difficult question because I am not here to judge whether someone can or is going to heaven. The people judged on their actions are the ones who have never heard the name of Jesus. As for the persons you are asking about - I believe first it would depend on their heart and whether they ever were told about Jesus and declined Him. Did they never read the bible because they never had access to one or never heard of one or did they not read it because they didn't want to. It is hard to believe that someone living now adays were never told about Jesus at sometime in their lives. Also did they know in their heart that the sexual sins they committed were wrong? If so they will be held accountable for them. I do know that if someone ever told them about Jesus and they refused Him in their lives then they can not enter the kingdom of heaven without repenting and turning their lives over to Him. Sorry I can't be of more help. prayon |

16 | Did Cain marry one of his sisters? | Eph 5:25 | prayon | 165423
Tessie, However we do not know whether that was the case or if he is a "baby Christian" and is really trying to understand. As for Psalm 131 - Adam Clarke's Commentary says: Psalms 131 - The psalmist professes his humility, and the peaceableness of his disposition and conduct, Psa_131:1, Psa_131:2. Exhorts Israel to hope in God, Psa_131:3. Matthew Henry's Commentary say, "This psalm is David's profession of humility, humbly made, with thankfulness to God for his grace, and not in vain-glory." Treasure of Scriptual Knowledge says, "Psa_131:1, David, professing his humility, Psa_131:3, exhorts Israel to trust in God. Adam Barnes Notes on the Bible say, " this psalm was probably a private meditation on what he had done, and was of the nature of a personal examination of his spirit and motives." J,F, and B's commentary says, "Psa_131:1-3. This Psalm, while expressive of David’s pious feelings on assuming the royal office, teaches the humble, submissive temper of a true child of God." John Darby's Synopsis says, "Psa 131:1-3 - Psalm 131 briefly states the humble absence of all self-confidence, that so he has walked. Israel is now to trust in Jehovah and for ever." I can not find one commentary that says this psalm does not address pride. Could I ask where you found that it does not address pride? I would be very interested to know. prayon |

17 | Did Cain marry one of his sisters? | Eph 5:25 | prayon | 165397
Greetings Tessie, There is no legitamate question that a person has about the bible that we should not concern ourselves with. Every word of the bible is there for a reason and is there to teach us. If the bible said that Cain was married then there is a reason it was there and we should strive to understand its meaning. Also Ps 131:2 says "Surely I have behaved and have quieted my soul, as one weaned by its mother; my soul on me is like one weaned." If you were refering to v. 1 then you have used that out of context as it is referring to pride. prayon |

18 | Were there 2 or 4 men hung on the cross | Matt 27:38 | prayon | 165351
Both men were sinners. However, during the time that they hung there one of the thieves learned the truth and repented. He is the one who then rebuked the other for his words. (Luke 23:39-40). It was then that Jesus told the man that today he would be with Him in paradise (v.43). prayon
19 | how to be filled with the Holy Spirit? | Acts 2:4 | prayon | 156530
Greetings Lionheart, You are so very correct! However, many people don't let it be simple. I have known people who pray for a few minutes and they don't think they have received it so they feel that they are not worthy of such a gift. They just give up. Or they may not feel comfortable with what the Spirit leads them to do so they think that "this couldn't be the Spirit". When I answer someone, since I don't know the person, I give the simplest, most basic answer I can. In Christ's love, prayon
20 | Beware "Another" | 2 Cor 11:4 | prayon | 156462
Greetings Victor, I have to say that I too am a veteran member of this forum and neither a fundamentalist nor a Baptist either. The members of this forum have many different viewpoints many which others think are way off base. However, we are not here to judge. Christ says we are to love our brothers and sisters in the Lord. This includes having a humble, loving spirit when addressing others - which is what we try to encourage on this forum. You do come across a little strong and judgemental however this is probably not at all the way you desired to come across. You seem to have a lot of knowledge of the Word and I hope that you remain on the forum - it will be interesting to 'study' with you. Just please tone it down some so as not to offend others. In Christ's love, prayon |
