2 | Saved by belief or belief and baptism? | NT general Archive 1 | imuvhim | 79193
Mark 16:16 doesn't say that you are saved before baptism, does it? It makes sense that belief comes before baptism, but that's not all or Jesus wouldn't have said baptism too. I don't want to be responsible for taking away from the words of Jesus. In Christian love, imuvhim |

3 | Saved by belief or belief and baptism? | NT general Archive 1 | imuvhim | 79468
Hi, I don't think that is right. I asked my pastor about this. He said unbelievers are condemned and the saved are the baptized believers. So you are wrong. I don't mean to judge but sorry to. Jesus didn't say the believer is saved. You should not put words in his mouth. That is my opinion. Do not add to or take away from God's word says the Proverb. Can you tell me what Acts 2:38 says. I'll ask my Pastor. Bye. |

4 | Are all sins equal and delt with the sam | Matt 5:28 | imuvhim | 79473
I don't know what you are asking. Did Paul say salvation is faith to faith? I think so. That means you don't have to do nothing. You don't believe in works salvation? My pastor says that is wrong and I'm on his side. Romans 6 is speaking about water baptism. What do you believe? My go to work. ----bye Romans 6 |

5 | Does following cost? | Luke 14:33 | imuvhim | 79646
But Jesus said follow me! But how could they if they didn't leave their nets? It seems like a person has to do sacrifice to be counted among the brethren of Christ. I don't hear too many preaching like the man did this Sunday. They are all preaching its free and easy. If it was so free and easy, why did Jeus let that man walk away when he wanted life eternal? I like that 2 Corinthians 9 verses because that says to me that I have to do it, but out of my heart. The man will be blessed in accordance to how he gave. I don't know if my Pastor owns a car or home, but I figure that's his private business. I won't ask. |

6 | Does following cost? | Luke 14:33 | imuvhim | 79682
Now I'm understanding you. My Pastor does have a car. I know that faith is what matters and I know that a obedience is what matters. What I got from the message on Sunday was the obedience part. Jesus saves those who obey. Hebrews 5:8,9 "he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him' Thanks |

7 | Does following cost? | Luke 14:33 | imuvhim | 79685
Very good verse. The verses in my Bible says the King had to count the costs of making a tower before he began. Is costs to be taught to the sinner before someone responds or is that done after? Is that your real name or does it mean something? Thanks |

8 | Does following cost? | Luke 14:33 | imuvhim | 79687
Very good verses. I have a question for you. Do the discipleship in Mark 8 start after a man is saved? The reason I ask I because he says the King counts costs before he starts. Thanks |

9 | Does following cost? | Luke 14:33 | imuvhim | 79934
All that sounds real good that you said. And that fellow who wanted to be saved but got turned away from being a follower, is that because he calculated cost and said it was too much? My Pastor when someone wants to be a born again believer is told beforehand what is the costs. Sounds like the bible way to me because that rich man was told cost beforehand. That's right? |

I agree. Thanks Rom 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. |

11 | imuvhim, What is His baptism? | Acts 2:38 | imuvhim | 79567
You ignore Acts 8? I don't see an answer, I see a dodge. This is the first time I've heard someone suggest that water baptism is commanded. Are disciples to be baptized by the Holy Spirit in the name of the Holy Spirit? That is unbiblical. Jesus told people to get baptized and that's what they did. Don't ignore Acts 8. I thought because this is a NASB sponsored page (maybe I'm wrong) that this would be more Scriptural. But it's not if it allows this.
12 | imuvhim, What is His baptism? | Acts 2:38 | imuvhim | 79594
You make logical error when you say this. You said ... "He commaded 'immersion'" ... I believe it should be 'washing' ... This is not following the example of burial. Anyone with some deeper education can see the error here. It does not follow that if you wash that you also immerse; But it does follow that if you immerse you also wash. You have been caught in an error. Jesus commanded death, bural, and resurrection in baptism. It pictures his own. In a right baptism the person is also buried--and he is washed. But if he only gets washed, he did not necessarily get buried. I hope you are open to see this truth. |

13 | imuvhim, What is His baptism? | Acts 2:38 | imuvhim | 79681
I know that baptism is commanded and that it is a burial. I don't need to read the Greek word because somebody else already did that when they made my Bible. It teaches to be immersed. Does anyone else have interest in talking about this topic? Because I don't agree with this person. I did not know people would ignore baptism.
14 | imuvhim, What is His baptism? | Acts 2:38 | imuvhim | 79933
Hi, "Baptism to anyone who believed in Jesus: Jews, the God-fearing, pagans.[27] Always, Baptism is seen as connected with faith: "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household," St. Paul declared to his jailer in Philippi. And the narrative continues, the jailer "was baptized at once, with all his family."[28]" This is what you believe? This is what I believe too. It is connected to faith is reason infants not appropriate to receive it. The faith of daddy, though it is impotant to rearing the child, does not substitute until they reach maturity. I do not think this: "Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua),[4] and the door which gives access to the other sacraments." Access to other sacraments? Does that mean no marriage if not baptized? got to go. |

I agree that a man and woman who don't believe in Jesus should not expect that the preacher perform a wedding for them. But it is traditional. But I am glad that it is still a true marriage even if they are not a believer. No matter if they are married by priest or pastor or JOP. Agree?
17 | does God know all things? Genesis 22:12 | James 2:21 | imuvhim | 80205
"Abraham's offering of Isaac demonstrated the genuineness of his faith and the reality of his justification before God. James is emphasizing the vindication before others of an man's claim to salvation." I'm sorry I'm critical but how is this so? This doesn't make sense to me. Just reading the verse makes sense. And also the first line of the explanation makes sense, but not the second. The explanation seem to undo what James said. James don't only emphasize the vindication before others, but also before God. The good question was ask why God said, 'now I know.' This not about vindication before others, but before God. No matter what man think, all that matters is that God know our faith. Unless it is important to be menpleasers. The only kind of faith that matter is an active or obeying one. We must count the cost of being an disciple even before we decide to build the tower. Faith count the costs and repents. When God sees faith then he says of sinner 'now I know' and justifies. Be baptized in water burial Romans 6:3-5 imuvhim |

18 | does God know all things? Genesis 22:12 | James 2:21 | imuvhim | 80280
Don't want to argue but this not right. James and Romans not talking about faith viewed by man and by God. Both are from God's view. God justify the one whose faith is in God. God justifies the one whose faith is active. Same faith, not two different faiths. Thanks. imuvhim |

19 | does God know all things? Genesis 22:12 | James 2:21 | imuvhim | 80281
I sorry you have problem here because "Jesus seeing their faith" healed and told man to walk. Faith needs to be seen and repenting needs to be more than talk.
20 | does God know all things? Genesis 22:12 | James 2:21 | imuvhim | 80296
You repeat yourself too much. "Paul speaks of that which justifies man before God, viz.: faith alone, wholly apart from works; James of the proof before men, that he who professes to have justifying faith really has it." Here you say something that makes no sense. They are not two different faiths and you don't see it. They are the same faith. So while the faith is in God above then it is seen in the works. You work too hard to exclude work but it is unnecessary to do so. |
