11 | is it acceptable to make demands of god? | Job | coffee | 58934
Hello rcchef2001, Your post was so nicely written. Have another look over Job. Maybe, if you can make some time to read the whole book you may find it makes more sense to you. My Bible might read a little differently from yours, but if it is ok with you, let me just quote some verses: 38:3 "Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct Me!" 40:7 "Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct Me." These are GOD's words to Job. Now see how Job replies: 42:4 "Hear, now, and I will speak; I will ask You, and You instruct me." What lesson did Job learn - that which you already know in your heart. Don't be afraid to talk to your Pastor. He will see your good intention. I sincerely hope this helps and that you enjoy the book and story of Job. May grace be with you always, deb |

12 | a righteous man | Job 1:8 | coffee | 58406
Interesting point EdB. If that had happened, I could imagine Satan ensuring he had something to do with the top!! The thought somehow makes me feel better about the break-up of the church now, as it has always caused me great distress to watch (men's) churchs battle over belief's.

I agree with you Hank, that 'the more cultist they lean the greater their influence'. I have learnt this the hard way and it is a very painful road indeed.

Dear Tim, Thankyou for your considerate note. Though my note was directed at Joe, you are most welcome to comment. I think you have made an excellent point, of which I agree; however, 2Tim 3:16 is more often abused than used in love. My intention towards Joe was to encourage him to be kinder rather that putting all of his energy into arguing a point; not to bring him down, as I am more than sure you are aware. I, myself, am not that great at achieving this, though I suspect if Joe has something to say in reply to my note, he will do so. Sometimes we have to trust God to show when He is ready. This scripture is often misused because we decide it is our job in our timing. I am extremely cautious about using scripture to put a point across because of the misuse I have witnessed. I will not argue with another who believes in something very strongly. If it is wrong, though not necessarily harmful to others, I fully believe that God will place something in their path. For example, if Rev C is wrong then I think God will place an event in his path. If this happens to be an encounter with Joe, then so be it. But what Rev C will remember most is the type of energy Joe reflected in the way he chose to handle the debate. If I was to turn around and be full on with you, would you remember what I said or how I treated you? If I was rude to you would it really matter to you if I was right? Or, to put it another way: a person has a browse through this forum, looking for God's love, instead finds argueing in a rather exagerated fashion. How will they view Christians? You have made an excellent point, and I could also use scriptures but I will not. You have enough intelligence to understand and to ask and to choose to disagree if your understanding is diferent. The kind of misuse I have seen of this scripture has broken churches, Christians, and especially, new Christians apart. It needs to be used very carefully with much wisdom and love. Again Tim,thank you for your thoughtful reply. I have already appreciated many of your notes. deb |
