Thanks for the effort, Joel. I have had that happen to me and it stinks. Now, if I get an error that tells me to go back, I copy the text to a Word Processor before I go back in case I lose everything. I'll check Romans. Thanks.
3 | Replies to a vulgar comment. | Eph 5:4 | TomBrooklyn | 67240
I apologize for not making myself aware of the nature of this forum prior to posting my question. I was looking for assistance in making an appropriate reply to the person who wrote the vulgar statement, and didn't take the time to get to know the "flavor" of this forum. I have no problem with the question I asked being edited, and I will refrain from being explicit on this forum with the foul details of abhorrent behavior in the future. That being said, I consider you to have crossed the boundary rational thinking to purport that this type of language is something I am used to talking or writing. Why didn’t you infer the opposite to be true? Isn’t it clear that the very reason I came here was to seek assistance in refuting and rebuking the offence? I merely quoted the offensive language. If I spoke about a murder and condemned it, would you assume I really condoned it. If I spoke of the gory details of it, would you think me likely to be a murderer myself? I read with interest that you have a teenage daughter and two grand daughters. While I can imagine what point you may be trying to make by telling me that, in reality I truly don't know the relevance of it as I do not know them or their habits. I have had extensive contact with many teenage girls however in the course of ordinary living; and I have found most of them to use the most crude and vulgar language. For instance, I used to live across the street from a Junior High School (7-8 grade). I would sometimes be outside the school when it let out. I would hear many, but it seemed like most of the girls using the foulest and most vulgar words you could probably imagine, oftentimes yelling them back and forth up and down the block. The eight to twelve year old children who live next to me now routinely exchange curse words with their parents and grandparents. I often on the sidewalks and streets, overhear men and women of all ages, and I mean all ages, use all kinds of curse words and vulgarities. This is not my opinion nor am I giving you unsolicited advice. It is just factual experience. I wonder if you are cognizant of the vulgar manner of speaking of many ordinary people. Have you familiar with the language used on network TV and in mainstream Hollywood films in the last ten to twenty years? Personally, I am appalled by it. Thanks to those that provided the Ephesian references above. I think they are appropriate. -TB |

4 | What Does 666 Mean? | Rev 13:18 | TomBrooklyn | 148515
Hi Searcher, I did that and found some reference to "The Beast" and the "AntiChrist" which I had some inkling "666" was about. But I didn't see 666 specifically written. It is still unclear to me what 666 is supposed to be. |
