Thank you, Hank, for your response. Yet it seems my biggest problem with non-believers always seems to be the first 6 chapters of Genesis. |

3 | The Exodus's importance to Hebrews? | Exodus | Renovate Me | 112203
I have always appreciated and looked forward to your responses, My eternal brother. This is why I wish to thank you for you clarification of your previous post. Your post did initially have a negative effect on me, but again, I am sensitive. It is extremely difficult to portray our message from the heart over this media, and too often we are misinterpreted. Without the benefit of body language, (accounting for 85-90 percent) it is actually impossible to accurately portray our true feelings. I find many of my posts on this Forum to be: not answered in the vein in which they are intended, but attackerd by those who feel I am wrong and they should correct my wayward thoughts. I am thanking you with my heart for your splendid response, (in multiple, as they may be) and look forward to future threads that link us together. Blessings con amore, my brother. |

Thanks, here's a story for you about conquering the beast. A hunter was walking through the jungle and he was startled as he came upon a pygmy standing next to a very large dead beast. Standing there amazed, he asked the pygmy, "did you kill that?" To which the pygmy answered "Yes." Then the hunter inquired how such a small person could ever overcome such a huge beast, to which the pygmy replied,"I killed it with my club." The astonished hunter then asked,"Oh? How big is your club?" and the pygmy replied, "There are 85 of us." My wounded brother, We are members of a club that is able to conquer any beast that comes our way, and this club is called the church. And oh how powerful the club is and how we are all needed to attend every meeting. I will pray for your liberation from this addiction. We must start by praying specifically for power over the beast, the very next time the urge strikes. I know as well as you that this is a real tough enemy to conquer. In His service and yours. |

11 | How many, where are Beatitudes? | Matt 5:3 | Renovate Me | 115708
Thank you Tim, What I was referring to was a statement that a respected minister made while I had my head under the hood of his car today. (I was ministering to an oil leak.) I am aware that there are Beatitudes found in Luke, but I was told that there are also (The complete number of)7 Beatitudes in the Book of Revelation. has anyone heard of this? Tim, your other comment also interests me. you say Ten? In Matthew I count 8, (verses 3 thru 10) and then in 5:11 there is an application of the former verse, thought to be spoken to the disciples, because of the change in the pronoun used. What do you think? |

14 | Is flesh existing in heaven now? | Luke 24:39 | Renovate Me | 109141
Thank you, Kalos and momma for your excellent replies. Yes, verses 24:42-43 fortify the belief that Christ was actual flesh after he had arisen. "42And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. 43And he took [it], and did eat before them."(KJV) However my thought was that after His ascension into the clouds, there was no longer use for this fleshly burden and Jesus is in heaven in His resurrected body, or his Spirit, but I find it hard to think He is living in flesh in heaven. Is there anything to that? Bless you and thanks. |

15 | who can explain to me? | John 1:1 | Renovate Me | 120284
Hi Rowdy, Yes you say correctly, for no one does have all the answers, and I would steer away from anyone who feels they do. I just caught your post about the concept of the Trinity, and I thought I'd share something I heard the other day. We all are aware that God is Love, right? well that proves existance of the Trinity I am told, because love cannot exist without an object, right? So, there is the spirit of love, the one that loves, and the one that is loved. hence three in one. Also, man was created in God's image, right? That is to say that man is three in one as well. We are comprised of body, soul, and spirit. But you are right. We will not know completely until that which is perfect comes to us. Only then will we know as we are now known. Until then, we can only peer through a soiled window, and catch glimpses of what will be (see the second half of the "Love Chapter" 1Cor 13) In His awesome Love, me |

16 | verse says no longer bound by old test? | Rom 8:1 | Renovate Me | 112124
The OT laws were not canceled by the NT, but perfected in the first coming of Christ. Jesus summed up ten commandments for us into two great commandments.(Mat 22:37-40) It would be impossible to break either of Jesus' two commandments without violating at least one of the original ten, and versa-vise.

18 | can i pay my tithes to my mother? | 2 Cor 9:7 | Renovate Me | 109212
Thank you, Prayon for your post but please allow me to clarify for I am afraid the meaning of my message was misunderstood. I give very generously to my church and pastor in time and money, but my income has been known to fluctuate wildly so sometimes I give 50 percent and sometimes 20 and sometimes less than 10 percent. This is what makes me feel good as part of a congregation and I pay no attention to the word 'tithe' since I feel that it is ALL God's money, we are only using His gifts during our short journey upon His earth. To me, it is not how much to give, but rather, how much should I KEEP? Which is why I chose the verse above to head this thread. What is a tithe for? Well it is hard to understand how one can put guidelines on the feelings in one's heart. If one, like me at times, has all needs met and bills have been paid, then I would not feel right giving ten percent of a week's income, because "he who sows sparingly..." That is what makes tithing impertinent. However, the fact remains, that in many churches, if every member would faithfully give ten percent every week, there would be no need for the fund-raisers that are so often necessary. One final verse in closing, from KJV, Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. In His Generous Grasp, Tim |

19 | can i pay my tithes to my mother? | 2 Cor 9:7 | Renovate Me | 109392
Also from John MacArthur, "One study of several denominations revealed a gradual decline in giving over seventeen years, though average income increased sharply in that time period. Material riches are proving to be a spiritual liability. Christians now have more money at their disposal than at any time in human history, but they proportionately invest far less in the kingdom. The same study further revealed that almost half of all charitable giving in the United States comes from households with annual incomes under 30,000 dollars. James 2:5 comes to mind: "Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?" -as the musician once said, "Golden country, your face is so red, with all of your money, your poor could be fed..." |
