1 | can a woman cut her hair? | Bible general Archive 4 | RangerRick | 211640
That is a question that requires certain variables to be defined. 1. is she married? If yes. Then she will have to stay in submission to her husband. 2. Define "cut". If cut means "look like a boy" then no because the bible tells us that the glory of a woman is her long hair. Why would you do something that is obviously not pleasing to the God who bought and paid for you. You wouldn't if all you wanted to do is please the Lord. That is my take from the scriptural base. I am syre there are many liberal Christians that will advise you on the mind of God and how he has become more understanding and permissive in his old age....but I would stick with the Word if I were you. |

St.John, I know this is going to urrkkk you to no end but the quote you use at the bottom of your decriptive page was actually written by Dake. You can find it on his web site. Just wanted to teach you something else. Only in love brother. It's really ok not to know everything and it takes humility to ask. Remember this is a Christian forum. do we come here to only show our head knowledge? The Lord is not interested in that and it is not how he identifies his people.

The Old and New Covenant. A. D. 62. 6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. 13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. |

There are many Christians that are offended by nthe celebration of Christmas and we should be sensative to their convictions just as Paul was of those who ate meat as well as those who did not. I watched a member of a church for 15 years walk out and not return because the Pastor allowed the youth group to put up a tree in the sanctuary. Who was correct? The Pastor or the man who walked out? It should never have happened. The one lost sheep is more important than the 99 and a wounded brother is harder to win than a strong city. So whether you are for St. Nick or not be aware of the weaker souls that are among you. That is my point. No. I was an Army Ranger not the lone Ranger...but we do know the scripture about course jesting. Right? |

The intelligent believer will do exactly what we are doing examining the truth. In a forum a question should be answered truthfully and to it's entirety. The question was not what should we do. The question was what is the origin when and where did it begin. The question to the best of my knowledge, which is somewhat limited, was answered. The person asking the question needs to ask the Pastor of his/her congregation for direction, not a computer based forum that requires no proof of credability other than the ability to sign in.

Yes, but he was a Lt. Col at the time and I fought under his command on the invasion of a small island named Grenada back in 1983. You may know him as Oliver North. He has been on TV quite a bit.

18 | Gospels are OT books? | John 1:1 | RangerRick | 211667
If you would permit me to interject one point and it is this: The 10 commandments given to Moses on Mt. Horeb was fulfilled completely by 2 laws given by Jesus and he deleted 1. The remaining 9 are fulfilled by Love the Lord with all thy heart mind sould and body and Love thy neighbor as thyself. If yo look at the 9 mosaic laws they are still covered by the 2 of Jesus. If you love me the way you love yourself you would not steal from me, seduce my wife, kill me etc. etc. and if you love god then you would have no other god before him. We are now dealing with a lot more commands than 10. I believe there are over 335 commands to Christians in the New Testament and Jesus expects you to follow them as best you can through the power of the Holy Spirit. There are no free rides. There was an old contract and now there is a new contract but this time he sent us a helper to be able to live it. Baby steps.

I beleive it was Jesus that told us not to observe days or am I mistaken and the point of Jesus being a false prophet is obsurd. He is,was and always will be God He can erase anything he wants. Would you pull your donkey out of a pit on the sabboth?
