Hi Brian, I have been reading everyone's note regarding Catholics. I was born catholic, in a family full of 100 hundred percent catholics. When it was time for me to give my first communion, my mom sent me to a Sunday school, so she believed, but I ended up with an old man who told me that the Catholic Church did not teach Jesus Christ's teachings and instead read the bible with me. Boy did he get me in trouble, I was 9 years old and very proud of God, after I finish reading the Bible, but it created a lot of controversy in my house and in the catholic church. The church refused to let me receive my first communion and my mom had a big celebration prepared for that weekend, so guess what she did? she went from church to church until one of the churches priests said: What do you say? She only knows our father and the Bible? well that's okay. Let her have her communion, so I did. But from then on, I never again wanted to go into one of the churches, so I grew up aimless around the world without a God, until God finnally decided to call me and teach me Christianity. And again, I had to go through the very same thing I went through when I was 9 years old. This time as an adult I received my parents and my sisters, uncles, aunts, rejections, you name it, I received it all. I almost went crazy trying to understand God, the Bible and the rest of the world around me. So many different ideas, so many different religions, so many different issues, it can drive you mad, but God can guide you and take you through each one of those steps, one by one. He already is, because you are reading the Bible and asking questions, listen to him and do not let the rest of the people overwhelm you. If it is too much for you, take a break and come back. May God bless you, Martha, |

I am really sorry you had to go through the same experience I went through, but we had to go trough all of that in order to be what we are now, and in order to help others to follow Christ. God planted his seed when we were children so that when we grew up as adults and learn the truth we did not depart from it. "But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty." Because of my experience as a child. I could never leave God or his ways. My childhood was not the best one, but God was watching over me and for that, I love him very much so and I could never leave him, not even if I had a thousand Roman soldiers after me. I'm sure you feel the same way. ------------------oooooooo---------------------- My whole family is back now. They're still catholics but they don't bother me anymore. They accept me as I am and I accept them as they are without changing each others beliefs. One of my sisters became Christian after I did; and she called me and said she was very sorry for everything that I had gone through but that I had helped her out a lot and that it had been really easy for her to change and follow Christ. I had prepared the path for her. A second one of my sisters is reading the bible, but still goes to a Catholic church. She is in between fields right now. Peple are learning from us, and there are more people out there which will come to God just from watching us and knowing what we went through. In Christ Jesus, |

God gave us freedom to worship whatsoever and whosoever we wanted to. It is our choice to choose and follow whomever we please to. As a "former catholic in this forum" I do not want to take on the responsibility to understand the catholic church, this is something God has to do. I chose not to follow the catholic church because I see graven images and idols in their temples; and I will not bow down in a place sorrounded by graven images and idols. I only worship GOD, the Father of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Martha, |

I got the answer to my question. I'm sorry it took me so long to respond. I am going to a class with my church the class is called Money and the Christian. I have to admit I do have the love for things and desire to have everything that I want, that's what my problem is. I have been praying to God and have asked Him for help so he can help me resolve my problem and get rid of my addiction for buying. I'm sure I will overcome. I already feel at ease, for I can do all things with God in me. I know it will go away, just like every other problem I've had has gone away. Thank you very much for your help. Martha, |

8 | Is war evil? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 23734
I know war is evil. Radioman and Tim want to know where in the bible it says "war is evil". Maybe you answered their question. |

9 | How do we respond to war as Christians? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24219
A lot of people keep reading Deuteronomy to justify war, but that's the old covenant. I think they forget we have a new one. Besides God declared war againt the people occupying the promised land because of their evil doings. I have to read that again and quote it, I guess.
10 | How do we open eyes to truth? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24412
God did not send the Israelites to war because they were self righteous or because they were good, this is why he did it. He was taking Israel to the promised land which was occupied by wicked, savaged people who used to kill and offer their sons and daughters to false idols, and he said to Israel: "Hear, O Israel: You are to cross over the Jordan today, and go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities and great fortified up to heaven, "a people great and tall, the descendants of the Anakim, whom you know, and of whom you heard it said, 'who can stand before the descendants of Anak? "Therefore understand today that the Lord your God is He who goes over before you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and bring them down before you; so you shall drive them out and destroy them quickly, as the Lord has said to you. "Do not think in your heart, after the Lord your God has cast them out before you, saying 'Because of my righteousness the Lord has brought me in to possess this land; but because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out from before you. "It is not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart that you go in to possess their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord your God drives them out from before you, and that He may fulfill the word which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. "Therefore understand that the Lord your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your rightousness for you are a stiff-necked people. Deuteronomy 9:1-6 God himself led all these wars and fought for Israel to punish the wicked and to fulfill his promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He stopped after he fulfill his promise. At the same time he gave Israel the 10 commandments and told them not to kill. God can kill if he wants to, he is God he can do whatever he wants to, God gave Satan permission to do evil against Job, and his wife told him to curse God and die for the evil God was doing to him. "Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? Curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips." Job 2:9-10 but he can also tell us not to kill, because we are not Gods, we are his children. And if he says Do not Kill, then we do not kill as obedients children of our father. "Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, "you shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not bear false witness," You shall not covet," and if there is any other commandments, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Love does not harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:8-10 Tim, We do not Kill. God can if he feels like it. He is God. He has his own reasons and we are not to judge him. "Judge not, that you be not judged. "For with what judgement you judge, you will be judged: and with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you" "And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Matthew 7:1-4 |

11 | How do we open eyes to truth? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24414
If the Germans had believed in Christ and known his point of views. World War II would have never started. This is an evil world and will not end until every single person knows Christ, and they will. You will see it, just as well as I will, war will not be needed any longer. We will have one King and ruler only, Christ, our Lord and Savior.
12 | How do we open eyes to truth? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24415
Those are wicked people doing evil. We are among the tares. We can be anywhere, even in the midst of evil and still do good. God will separated us when he returns.
13 | How do we open eyes to truth? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24420
There were times when God told the Israelites not to fight, but instead he sent the Angel of death to kill the people fighting against the Israelites and David. And by the way, God did not want David to build his temple because he was a warrior, he had death in his body. God loved David dearly but he could not let him build his temple, instead Salomon, a worshipper of idols did. By the way, evil rules the world, until such time when God returns, Christ himself will overcome it and I will be right next to him. In the meanwhile I do not kill, wether for good or bad. I'm going in peace, may you do the same. |

Zechariah 8:1-23, God is talking about the future everyone will know him, he will rule and have a world of peace. Read Malachi and Revelations. "Thus says the Lord of Hosts: 'People shall yet come, Inhabitants of many cities; The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, "Let us continue to go and pray before the Lord, and seek the Lord of Hosts. I myself will go also." Yes, many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of Hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord.' "Thus says the Lord of hosts; In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, "let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with You. Zechariah 8:20-23 God will be physically be with us and we will be able to pray in front of him. |

Keep reading, all the way up to Rev 21. It also says there will be a second death, which will be the ultimate death for all the evil ones. The ones remaining will be Christ's bride, and he will rule. Yes, at the end, only Christians will remain. This is what I was talking about when I said Hank will see it and so will I, we will awake again, and if we do not receive the second death, we will see it. I'll do anything that it is in my power not to receive it. Obey God, with all my heart, all my might and all my soul. The war after the millenium is to get rid of all the ones who slipped by during the millenium. They will be tempted by the Devil again, and if they cannot control temptation and follow God, they will receive the 2nd death. |

I do not feel guilty. I did not command the middle easterns government to start war and I did not command the United States government to follow through. I for one, I'm fine where I'm at, and yes, I enjoy the blessings God has brought me, for if he has allowed war to happen and others to fight for us, then let it be. They will also receive their reward, as well as we will. It just that God has appointed some to fight and quarrel while he has appointed others to watch and observe the world until he comes. |
