1 | I NEED A TRUE FRIEND THAT IS A CHRISTIAN | Bible general Archive 3 | winningside | 178460
Hi MommieSadie, Your message sounds like one I would have wrote years ago. Desperate for an answer and no answer was good enough. In fact, I still do not have that special christian friend. I have many christian acquaintances. But you know, God is good. He gives you what you need when you need it. Maybe God only wants me talking to him for now because my life sure is a mess too. Maybe God has set you apart for himself for now. To give yourself to prayer and study. People will come and go but God is here to stay. He knows you need someone or something in your life. He does not turn a deaf hear to those who love and obey him. Just give it to God. Everything is in his hands. He will give you what you need. But please do not give your address to anyone over the internet even on a christian website. All though, I am sure most regulars on this site are wonderful. There are still those on here who are just passing by. God can send you someone locally. Don't give up. Be of good courage and "stand" for the Lord. Psalm 4:3-4 [3] But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. [4] Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Psalm 27:14 Wait on the lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart. |

2 | Holy Spirit -Joy, Laughter, Tears? | 1 Cor 12:31 | winningside | 171736
Dear Seacher56, I would like to tell you my story of tears, laughter and joy. I sat in a pentecostal church for 12 years and still could not understand all that myself. I could not understand how all this could be going on around me, but seemed to be something that I personally could not have. I did not understand. One night I was on my way to church and I was praying to God because I was a little down that night and just wanted to tell God about it. I got to church and just sat there quietly waiting for church to begin. The preacher walked up to the pulpit and before he said a word, something just hit me. Something I never felt before and could not fully explain but I wanted to jump up and run, but I sat there holding onto my chair. I felt like I was going to explode. After church was over I left and rode down the rode laughing, crying and absolutely filled with joy. I would laugh awhile, cry awhie, then laugh and cry at the same time and this went on for a couple hours. I knew it was the Holy Ghost. The comforter that God promised me in his word. Finally after all those years of wondering and waiting, it was my turn. God saw my heart. He knew I needed him. And it felt like he just filled me with pure love. Before that night, I could never say that "God loved me". I just could not get those words to come out of my mouth because I didn't believe that he did because I was not good enough. In Romans 15:13 it says - Now the God of hope fill you with ALL JOY and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. I do not know why it took me so many years, but I can tell you that, after that night my life was changed. That was about 4 years ago and I am learning that the Holy Ghost is love, joy, laughter and tears. He is also my comfort and my peace. Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. When you love someone you do laugh with them, cry with them and feel joy when they are happy. That's what love does. May the Holy Ghost fill us all until we are overflowing! May God Bless you winningside |

5 | The AntiChrist | Dan 9:27 | winningside | 165143
From what I read out of the KJV bible. It is days not years. Revelation 9:24 ***Seventy weeks*** are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Revelation 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be ***** seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: **** the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times Revelation 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there **** a thousand two hundred and threescore (days).***** |

Hi NightJay0044, From what I have studed, many times in the bible when speaking of the tribulation it is referred to as 1260 days and 42 months. Half of the tribulation period such as in Rev 13:5. And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. (3-1/2 years) I am sorry that I can not be more helpful but I hope this gives you a good starting point in your studies. winningside |

7 | God's Holy Mountain | Ezek 28:16 | winningside | 164980
Hi fwiaskycap, Below are a few bible verses I found on "holy mountain" Hope this helps. Is 66:20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD. Dan 9:16 O LORD, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us. Zechariah 8:3 Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain. |

10 | what does the bible say about suicide | Deut 5:17 | winningside | 164932
Hi Idardeen, In Job 3:1-3 Job cursed the day he was born. He was covered with Boils and wanted to die. His wife kept telling him to just curse God and die, but Job did not. In the end, he was blessed. He was given double of what he had lost and really blessed because he pressed through. God loves all people on this earth and he has a plan an purpose for everyone. We are not to look at our circumstances, but look to God. And he will keep us strong until he ready to take us home. Job 3:1-3 After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day. And Job spake, and said, Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived. 3:4 Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it. 2 peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Isaiah 26:3,4 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength Acts 16:27, 28 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. |

11 | How do you just let GOD? | Mark 9:24 | winningside | 164770
Hi Needing Him, First of all let me say that for the first 10 years that I was in church, I was in and out, and up and down. We are not perfect. We struggle!!! But you know what? God will never never let you down. I was miserable when I was out of church too, but didn't know how to get back either. It's hard walking back into a church, any church, once you have left. I walked back in my church once after being gone a year. I felt like every eye was on me, but that was five years ago, maybe six and do you know that I haven't left since. God wants you back much more than you want to go back. I can am sure of that. Needinghim, Just pray, pray, and pray, ask God to forgive you and take you back, but then take that step. Walk back into your church or a new church with your head held high. No-one is better than you. It's you and God. No-one else has anything to do with it. No Judgment, No condemnation - Just you and the Lord. Please ask God for his forgiveness and go forward. Tomorrow is a brand new day. - winningside |

12 | searching for the truth | Philem 1:6 | winningside | 164768
Hi FytRobert, I do not think there is a clear-cut answer. I wish there was. Everyone is different and has to be approached differently. I believe the main thing to do is to pray for them and ask God to drop the blinders from off their eyes and make their heart tender to accept God's word. FytRobert, I think that since you care enough about this person's soul to ask, then I think God will show you how to live before them and show you when to say something and when to hold your peace. Only God can change them, or save them, but he can use you as his vessel, especially since you are so willing. Bless you for caring - winningside |

15 | What will our heavenly bodies be? Phys. | Philippians | winningside | 163248
Read all of 1 Corinthians 15. 35But someone may ask, "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?" 36How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. 39All flesh is not the same: Men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. 40There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. 41The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor. 42So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being"[e]; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. 46The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. 47The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. 48As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the man from heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. 49And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we bear the likeness of the man from heaven. I hope this helps. winningside |

16 | God Question | John 1:18 | winningside | 163226
Rick, God will show himself to you. Only ask him to make himself real to you and he will. I did not go to church much as a child so I did not know much of anything, but by the grace of God I had a friend who prayed for me, so I started going to church when I was around 30 yrs old. What a hard road it was for me, because I could not understand and God was not real to me and I could not understand how he could be real to anyone. Rick I went to church for years just going through the motions of a christian. Some people I think just walk into the church and Boom there whole lives are changed they are new an happy and life is a grand parade. For me it did not happen that way. I cried, I prayed - God what is wrong with me. I could not make myself get into the church thing no matter how hard I tried. But you know what. It took years, more years than I would want to tell you because I would not want you to get discouraged, but God made himself real to me-in one day. In a time when I was sitting in a church in the back and dreading even being there, God changed my life that night and it has not been the same since. You see, God knows that I am a hard person. He knew what it would take for me. Everyone is different and God has to deal with people in different ways. You see, Rick, it God would have changed me early on like most people, he knows that I would have walked away. Thank God for his all-knowing knowledge. Sometimes God has to fed us year after year for us to be able to keep it down. God is so wonderful. I thank God it took me years to get something that everyone else was getting their first week of being saved. God timing is not our timing and I thank the Lord for it. Hang on, God will reveal himself to you. That I can promise, because God never fails. Remember- no matter what situation you are in, or how long it takes you to get out - you are on the winningside. Amen
17 | Can you please explain tithing? | Malachi | winningside | 163221
Malachi3:8-10 "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. "But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' "In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. i sincerely hope that this answers your question. I use to try to give it to the poor and do what I wanted with my tithes, but God says to bring the tithes into the storehouse. Our responsiblity is give to the local church that is spiritually feeding us, that is what we are commanded to do. After that, God will deal with the local church with what HE wants done with the money. But you have done your part. You gave to your local church. It is now out of your hands and you will be blessed. As for giving to the poor and to another church, that should be an additional offering. God Bless! |

18 | Help!!! | Bible general Archive 3 | winningside | 162892
Hi Mort, I don't have the answers to everything but I wish I did. Some things are just over my head in understanding, but I can tell you this. The bible says that God does not wish that any should perish and go to Hell. He will put everything and everyone in their path to try and turn them the right way. If they do not believe in the bible then all the words in the world is not going to make them believe. But you pray for them. God hears all our prayers and he works on our behalf, so you ask God to take off his blinders and lead him. Just put in it Gods hands because this is way bigger than me, but such a little thing for God to handle. There is hope for your friend, especially if you are interceding for him. God may even send you the revelation to help your friend, but pray, pray, pray.
