1 | Cain must master sin? | 1 John 3:12 | uursamajor | 212995
Hi Joshua, The scripture I assume you are referencing is Gen. 4:7 where Cain is opening the door of his soul to a spirit of murder towards his brother. 1 John 3:12 tells us that Cain was "of the evil one" implying that Cain did not heed God's adomition and resist the anger that was welling up inside him. We are also faced with the same type of temptation each day. Knowing who we are in Christ Jesus is the key to resisting the enemies temptations which are always designed to change us into his likeness, not God's. In Christ Jesus we have, through the Spirit of God, the power to become sons of God in everything that we do and are. Our transformation is a lifetime process! Keep your heart humble before God and He will give you the strength and grace to be like Him. |

2 | Where is the Kingdom Today | NT general | uursamajor | 211989
Hi Kacbml4, Yes! The Kingdom is here and the Kingdom is coming! In Luke 17:20-21 Jesus answers the question of the Pharisees who were asking as to when the Kingdom of God was coming. He tells them the Kingdom is not coming with outward signs but it is "in your midst". The Pharisees were looking for an outward Kingdom but Jesus was telling them that the Kingdom of God is inside of us as well as outside of us. Romans 14:17 tells us that the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking but righteousness, peace and joy. Then in a number of verses we are told that we will inherit the Kingdom of God. Then Revelation makes mention of the time when the Kingdom of God will rule. So we see as we look at the whole picture that the Kingdom of God is: 1. an internal transformation of the heart. 2. A present force indwelling in believers of righteousness, peace, joy, and power. 3. An eternal government headed by the Messiah Jesus, the Son of David, who will rule and reign over this earth and a new heavens and new earth. Blessings, Uursamajor If you look up Luke 17:21 and then click on the little letter i, the verse will have little numbers next to some of the words. Find the phrase "in your midst" and click on the number 1787 in blue. |
