1 | Why did God not create more one couple ? | Gen 2:7 | uncle rhemus | 56812
There was nothing wrong at that time with so-call incestuous relationships... in fact it was the only way available for mankind to grow. Because Adam and Eve were cursed for their disobedience in Eden, and put out of the garden away from a perfect food source, they gradually over time became more and more fallen. Each succesive generation is fallen a little more. Indeed, the first born child of all time murdered the second in a jealous rage. As we peruse through the Old Testament, we see it was common even nearly 2000 years later for close relatives to marry, i.e. Abraham married Sarah who was a very close relative... who share one of the same parents. In our day it is outlawed because when close relations bring forth children birth defects are very likely, and this is due to the curse on the human race given to us through Adam. Romans 5:12 is to the point:..." Therefore, as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and so death passed unto all men, for that all sinned"... We have inherited from Adam sinfulness, and all the failings and weaknesses that go with it. Jesus paid for all this, and took our weaknesses and burdens upon Himself... so that when His kingdom is established, we can start afresh. Also, it is stated [and more importantly so] that Jesus died specifically for Adam. Romans 5:12-19 bears this out, as well as 1 Corinthians 15: 21-22, showing that we became sinners and received the death sentence because of Adam, and Jesus, the second man Adam, of whom vs. 22 state "in Christ shall all be made alive",... which is quite the opposite story. So, if more than one pair were created in the first, then more than one savior would be needed... one for each family line, for the price to redeem Adam and all of us who became sinners while still in his loins was the giving of one perfect life in sacrifice...i.e. Jesus' life. If there had been a second man named Joe and a wife named Louise, they and their children would not have been redeemed by Jesus dying for Adam. Remember, God's law states plainly, an eye for an eye, a life for a life. God is a wise economist, and by allowing just one couple to start, He through His wisdom could provide salvation for a dying world through the death of His one and only begotten Son. 2 | how long has the earth been here | Gen 2:7 | uncle rhemus | 56807
No doubt a long time... but the question must be looked at in relative terms... relative to what? Genesis 1:1 says "In the beginning" and literally the translation states "In a beginning"... not the very beginning, for God had already brought the Angelic host into existence at that time. Some of them were put to work watching over the first human pair in Eden, and they failed. This beginning refers to when God turned is attention to this shapless clump of materials and began to fashion it to bring it into play as a habitable place for his newly created human race that he would soon bring about. We are not told in the Bible how long the days of creation were. Most say 24 hours, but that does not seem wise, because a 24 hours day is determined by the sun, and the sun does not enter the picture until the 4th creative day. Besides this, what about the dinosaurs? If God created the earth and all the plants and animals and man himself in just 144 hours [6 days], where would these creatures we all know existed fit in? So the days must have been mucn longer. The only clue we have in my estimation as to their lenght is the length of the seventh day, and I assume it is safe to say that if we can determine the length of one of these days, they all would be the same. On the seventh day God rested. He is still resting. If we all up the Bible Chronology from Adam down the line to Abraham, which we can do mainly through Genesis chapters 5 and 11, and some of the chapters about Abraham and then add the periods of judges and kings and such... it will bring us to a place in history wherein we come to concrete accurate dates. When it is all added up, we've been here as a race some 6132 years. I believe this day is 7000 years long, but dont' have the space here to go into that. That would give some 42000 years for dinosaurs to exist before man shows up on the scene. What do you think? Thanks for your question. |

3 | which nation actually resembles God? | Gen 2:7 | uncle rhemus | 56805
God is an invisible God... a spirit being whose body consist of life principle itself... The bodies of other spirit beings like angels are composed of spiritual substances... not material substances... spirit substances that we know of are fire, ether, light, heat, etc... and I'm sure that there are many we don't know of... What color was Adam's skin? What color was Jesus' skin? I would assume it was a bit darker than most folks might think. Adam was made of the clay, and he was probably a ruddy brown like those peoples of the middle east. The climate and diet of races has has a lot to do with their skin color. Peoples of the far east [yellow skin] eat all kinds of things you might never touch... like monkey, rats, raw fish, etc... It has an effect on their pigment as well as other physical features. Also the climate... the hotter the climate, the darker the skin.. the colder the climate the lighter the skin... this adaptation taking place over many centuries... mostly due to the sun and its rays. Who cares what color either one of them were? The Bible says God made all nations of one blood, so Jesus died for us all... offering hope and opportunity to each of us as we find and seek to follow him. However, your question is a good one... I heard it quite a few times. The Jesus we all commonly think of is the one depicted in portraits painted some 1500 years after His death... I call that the european Jesus. You would get a better idea what he might have looked like by reading the Old Testament and looking at descriptions of His people, the Jews. He had long hair and braids wherein were tied the PHilactories [spelling?] which were little scrolls that contained certain prayer scriptures from Deuteronomy. God bless your studies |
