1 | how can i be holy?? | 2 Cor 7:1 | seekingtrvth | 122284
Hi Coko, I hope I can be a help. It sounds like you desires to be perfect(without any sin or failures and that simply isn't going to happen this side of heaven. If we were able to do this then we wouldn't have the need for God's forgiveness that He has provided. Notice 2 Cor 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Perfecting holiness is a process and is ongoing. What you can do is make sure you have received the Spirit of God [Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.] and He will lead you in this process. I hope this is a help to you.
2 | a physical or spiritual body? | Acts 8:22 | seekingtrvth | 118161
First we have to understand what it means to be born again. Jesus stated that unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. What does it means to be born of water and the Spirit? It is through this rebirth by water and the Spirit that a person receives life or spiritaul life from the Father. So the question comes down to HOW does a person receive new life or spiritual life from the Father? Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Rom 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in NEWNESS OF LIFE. Rom 6:5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, Rom 6:6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; Rom 6:7 for he who has died is freed from sin. Rom 6:8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, Rom 6:9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him. Rom 6:10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Rom 6:11 Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but ALIVE TO GOD in Christ Jesus. According to Paul the newness of life comes through baptism. This is where a person also dies to sin when they are baptized into the death of Jesus Christ. The first converts to Christianity were born again, notice what they were told; Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?" Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This is where the water and the Spirit comes together in the new birth. Before we go on does, does this make sense? Feel free to ask any question at any time. May the Savior lead through His word |

3 | How often must we die and be born again? | Acts 8:22 | seekingtrvth | 118048
According to Jn.3 the new birth is a one time event if it is done correctly and for the right reason. Dying to ourselves is a daily event, it is a process in which we continue to put to death the things of the flesh. Gal 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Col 3:5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. Col 3:6 For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, Col 3:7 and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them. Col 3:8 But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. Col 3:9 Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, Col 3:10 and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him-- God Bless |

4 | luke 9 vs 24 | Luke 9:24 | seekingtrvth | 118047
It is the natural nature of man to practice self-preservation. This is where we will guard our life from harm or loss at all cost. This is what we see with Christ the Savior in the garden before He was betrayed. He was battleing what is natural to man and He was man, self- preservation. Matt 26:39 And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will." We are seeking to preserve our lives when we seek our own desires, ambitions, goals etc, where the focus of our life is self rather than Christ. Christianity is a life of following Jesus, giving our all to Him, doing His will rather than ours or others therefore we lose our life for His sake If we preserve our life here it will be lost for eternality, if we lose our life here it will be saved for eternality. God Bless |

5 | GAl: Works vs God commandmts | Rom 16:26 | seekingtrvth | 117585
The answer to your question is that Paul was doing away with the whole law of Moses including the ten commandents. These laws were followed without faith in Jesus Christ and no one can be justified without faith in Christ. There was a new covenant established through Christ's death and the shedding of His blood. It is the laws of this new covenant that Christians are to follow and obey in faith. Note what Paul was referring to when speaking of the law of Moses. Gal. 2:3 But not even Titus, who was with me, though he was a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised. Gal 2:12 For prior to the coming of certain men from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he began to withdraw and hold himself aloof, fearing the party of the circumcision. Gal 4:10 You observe days and months and seasons and years. Gal 4:11 I fear for you, that perhaps I have labored over you in vain. |

6 | who was Jesus | Matt 16:15 | seekingtrvth | 117577
He *said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Matt 16:16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Matt 16:17 And Jesus said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. Jesus agreed with Peter's answer and states that God the Father revealed the answer to him. |

7 | judgement day | Gen 1:1 | seekingtrvth | 117364
Hi Karri, I hope I can help and assist you on this topic. When Jesus Christ died He died for man,s past sins. "Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Some will say that Christ died for man's future sins which is confusing. From the time man is forgiven by Christ he is required to confess and repent (change his mind and conduct)of his sins. "If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; 1 John 1:7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If man does not confess and repent of his sins and continue to practice them, then he is accountable to Christ at the judgement. No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1 John 3:10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. I pray that Christ will give you understanding of His word. |
