2 | Selling on the Church ground. | Matt 21:12 | seekhim101 | 147271
smerka, Read Matthew Henry's commentary on the Bible for Matthew 21:12 and also John 2:14-15. This may help. I personally believe anything that is done in God for his glory cannot be wrong. For example, how can the sales at your church be wrong if the objective is to take the money and buy the children new Bibles? On the other hand, I also think it has to be done of God and for his glory. Not part of the way but all the way. Although I don't want to sound as if I am judging the person who plans to sell jewelry, I think just giving part of the proceeds to the church is like renting space at God's house to boost sales. If a small portion of the proceeds where used to buy more materials to build more jewelry to make more money for God's work then more power to her. But if the objective is to make a profit for one's self I think we have to be careful how we allow God's house to be used. I hope this helps in some way but be sure if God has placed this on your heart then seek his will and it will be revealed to you. God bless you and your church!
3 | Why don't the "healers" visit Terri? | Is 53:5 | seekhim101 | 147050
A small amount of faith in God can do what we think to be impossible. Reference the words of Jesus himself in Matthew 17:20 Knowing this and believing this, one may ask why then have the prayers of the faithful not been answered? Is it because faith cannot heal? Could it be because no one has even the amount of faith Jesus refers to in Matthew 17:20? Is the fact Terri is going through what she is going through because there are none with enough faith to change her outcome? I think not. We should place our faith in God and trust in him on this and every issue we face in life. To insinuate that just because Terri has not been healed at this point does not mean the faithful are faithless and faith has no power to heal. In my opinion, to think it does would be to say that faith is what we desire in our hearts and not what it should be and that is to trust in God and his will be done regardless if it's what we think should take place or not. Faith is not some magical power you have that can be waved like a wand to produce your hearts desires. God knows your hearts desires on the Terri Schiavo issue but Gods will be done in all matters regardless if we understand them all or not. I for one will continue to pray for Terri and her loved ones and I pray Gods will be done and I believe that it will be done. Let your faith be strengthened by placing your trust in God even when you find something hard to understand. For we know little compared to God and should surrender completely to his will. One day we may have understanding of these things we cannot comprehend. Seek him daily! |
