1 | repost of circumcission and baptism? | Col 2:12 | sandrider | 56984
Some comparisons inlcude the switch from the Passover to Lord's Supper and the change from Saturday to Sunday Sabbath.
2 | When I pray to God, what should I say? | Matthew | sandrider | 56340
Jesus told us the basic Lord's prayer in Matthew 6:9-13. But, we should be truthful to God and say what we think. So I use a little system, ACTS, or Adoration Confession Thanksgiving Supplication. These four components cover all of the things I can think of to say to God.
3 | the great commission/evangelism? | Matt 28:19 | sandrider | 56338
I don't feel that this passage requires everyone to be full-time evangelists (that would be ridiculous). If you work in a company, it would probably fufill this commission to be scrupulous and hard-working and have a Bible on your desk so anyone who comes into your office sees where your morality is based. There is more than one way to spread the faith. President Bush, although not a full evangelist, helps Christianity by being a good person and then by identifying himself as a Christian. He need not spew Bible passages with every speech he makes. |

5 | Charmer a Hypnotist? Hypnotism bad? | Deut 18:11 | sandrider | 56221
Hypnosis is more accurately called hypersuggestivity. It is a state where you are more likely to do what is told you. However, hypnosis is not a "charm," it cannot force you to do things that are completely beyond what you would normally do. This is why no reputable accounts of hypnotists causing those they hypnotize to kill themselves or others (or to hand over their entire estate, etc.) exist. I have been under hypnosis. It lets you do things which you may not have the willpower to do otherwise because so many other smaller concerns are battering you in your mind. Hence, I feel it can be a powerful tool for psychology or the treatment of addiction. However, if the hypnotist had suddenly told me to pick up a gun and shoot myself, strip naked, or anything else equally beyond normality, I know I would have refused. |

6 | what happens? | Matt 13:47 | sandrider | 56220
The parable of the net (Matthew 13:47-52) is the closest thing the Bible gives to an answer for this question. Because the fish that were not caught cannot be seperated, it can be reasoned that God will not judge those who have not heard his Word like those who have. |

7 | Does the bible use it? | Eph 2:8 | sandrider | 55741
Many churches (although not the Roman Catholic) believe in salvation by faith, which is what the Bible says. Some passages refer to being judged by what you do, which is an outward sign of your faith, so it is still judging your faith. (e.g., 1 Peter 1:17) One of the New Testament's most well-known passages is John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." These words, from Jesus's mouth, say that if you believe that Jesus is the Son of God and one's saviour, then that person is saved. Romans 11:6 sums it up nicely, "And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace." If one accepts the grace, they are no longer under the charge of sin. |

8 | Jesus died go do what? | Matthew | sandrider | 55737
Just before Jesus died, he cried out to God, "Why have you forsaken me?" Jesus had become separated from God, the state of Hell. For three days Jesus was separated from God and payed for all of our sins in that time. He was then resurrected, appeared to believers, and then ascended into Heaven.
9 | Unequally yoked or not? | Deut 22:10 | sandrider | 55585
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 is probably a spiritual interpretation of Deuteronomy 22:10. Paul is warning the Corinthians not to work with servants of Satan such that the believers would aid them. Business ventures are not likely to fall into this catergory of spiritual work.
10 | Could you give me scripture referance | Matt 5:27 | sandrider | 55583
It is mentioned in the Pentateuch (Exodus 20:14) and later by Jesus (Matthew 5:27) that one should not commit adultery. Adultery is, by definition, having sex outside the marriage.
11 | Who is on the right than? | Bible general Archive 1 | sandrider | 55581
If I understand your question, you are asking if Christ is seated at the right hand of God the Father. Many places tell of Christ's place ("...where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. [Colossians 3:1]). The right-hand seat is a symbol of being the second-in-command or confidant of the superior. Hence, Christ, is second to God in Heaven.
12 | Who are the angelic majesties/dignitarie | 2 Pet 2:10 | sandrider | 55580
I would take it as meaning any deity (whether supposed or the true God). It is saying that these men are not afraid to lie and decry others, while the angels who are in God's presence will not even skirt on lying by bringing forth a slandering accusation, as in the next verse. Jude 9-10 displays a similar point, even though it is an allusion to an apocryphal book, the Assumption of Moses, and hence disputable whether or not the allusion itself is canon.
