4 | Which Church is the right one? | NT general Archive 1 | rferg | 71454
Dear Friend, I'm sure many who attend all denominations and non denominations wonder the same question. I know I have and I could never find an answer that convinced me. So I did some praying and studying of my own. If you care to hear this is what I have come up with for myself. It's starts with a process of illimination! First I illiminated all religions who didn't use the Bible. Then I elliminated all religions who added another book to the Bible (Mormans, Catholics, Karon etc.) The bible says not to add any other book to the bible, Rev 22:18. Then I discovered an interesting poin as to why the bible is very different from every other book in the entire world. It is 2/3rds prophecy. That means most of world history was foretold. Which kingdoms rose and fell, how many kingdoms there will be, not to mention the birth of Christ and where it would be and when. No other book can tell this because only God knows the beginning to the end. Much of the bible is recorded in the Book of Mormon and the Karon but the Karon and Book of Mormon are not recorded in the Bible. I also dicovered in the book of Revelation 3 different times God say's He's returning for a type of Church. It discribes this church as keeping the commandments of God and the testemony of Jesus Christ Rev. 12:17, 14:12, 22:14. If God is coming back for a church who keeps His Commandments the church better figure out which ones they are. I don't know about you but I need to know because I intend to be apart of the church He's returning for. Which commandments are they reffering to? Good question since the church or at least anyone I have asked cannot explain it to me. But the bible tells of a story about the rich young ruler in Mark 10:17 this young man came to Jesus and ask what he must do to enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus tells him to keep the commandments. Jesus then quotes the last 6 commandments which teach us how to love our neighbor (the first 4 Commandments teach us how to love God. These commandments Jesus quoted were the Ten Commandments. In 1 John 2:3 And by this we know that we have cme to know Him, if we keep His commandments.4 The one who says, I have come to know Hin and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. The church ignores this statement. I want to know what commandments we need to keep to know that I know God don't you? Continue to read all of 1John. Here's where the problem lyes in the church. Supposedly the Ten Commandments were under the Law and we are no longer under the law but grace. So the TC's don't apply to us. There is something wrong. This does not correspond with revelation or Jesus answer to this young man to such an important question and many other scriptures. The reason why I believe that the TC are explained away and scripture so twisted that it took years of studying to unravel it, is because if they were still in effect the "Christian Church" would be breaking one of the commandments. The "Christian Church" goes to church on the 1st day of the week and not the seventh, which is the Sabbath. If this were true that would mean that every church who attended church on Sunday would be illiminated as the true church, why because the bible says in Rev.22:19 not to take away the words of this book God would take away his part from the tree of life. The Roman Catholic Chuch changed the Sabbath (Saturday) to Sunday and the "Protestant" Christian church followed suit. I have much more to say but may be running out of room. Disgest this and ask me some more later. God Bless |

7 | Rich Young Ruler | Mark 10:17 | rferg | 71345
Mark 10:17 And as He was setting out on a jouney, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and began asking Him, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? In verse 18 he recognizes Jesus as God. In verse 19 Jesus quotes 6 of the Ten Commandemtns. In 20 the man states to Jesus that he has kept them from his youth (yes he has been raised in some kind of Biblical setting). 21 And looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him, and said to him, "One thing you lack: go and sell all your possessions, and give them to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow Me. 1. One point I find interesting is the fact that we in the Christian Chruch are taught that we are no longer under the Law. Most Christians include the Ten Commandments as part of the Law, which would mean they wouldn't be applicable in the NT. But we clearly see Jesus quoting the last six of the TC and using them to anwser a very important question. The first four commanments teach us to love God the last six teach us how to love our neighbor. 2. The rich young ruler was obviously rich. He states he has kept these commandments but yet is not willing to take an extra step to sell his possessions and give to the poor (his neighbors). 3. This also shows a lack of trust in God, which all thing come from. 4. The man new the letter but not by the Spirit of God, which is love. Jesus knew his heart. I hope this helps! |

8 | Need to understand the Trinity... | Bible general Archive 1 | rferg | 71136
Greetings! At one time I thursted for the truth about the trinity. The more I listen to the answers Christians gave to me the more I was confused. I prayed and asked God to help me understand and this is what I got. It will probably seem strange at first because I have never heard this in a church but God knows me and my small mind. So I hope this will help you clear up any questions you may have or at least give you a foundation on to re-read the bible and re-new your thinking. Trinity means (three) tri-une God. You know the saying three in one. I will explain the trinity like a word picture. It's the way that was shown to me. I wrote it down drawing a line down the middle of a paper. Realizing the similarities between the earthly families and the spiritual families of God. God is a spiritual family. Like our earthly families God (Father, Son and the Holy Spirit) is their last name and not their first. So lets start here with first rearranging of our thinking. There is Abba Father (he is Father God), Jesus Christ the Son (he is the Son of God) and the HOly Spirit (Spirit of God). They are all three in the spiritual family of God. In the spiritual family of God there is a chain of command. The Father is the first in command and the son is second. They have different funtions just like our earthly families. They all three have the same nature, righteous without sin. Our earthly families all have the same last name but we rarely refer to everyone by their last name as we do God. We are born with the same nature (sinful not righteous). There is a chain of command with the Father being first and so on. Just as our earthly family can be added to so also can the spiritual family. When we are born again into the body of Christ we become the spiritual children of the family of God. There is a line to cross over so to speak. No, I am not saying we are God's I am saying we take on the nature of Christ. We are transformed daily until Christ returns. One of the confusions come when we read the bible and we see the word "God". Next time you do ask yourself this question, God who. Father God, the Son of God or the Holy Spirit of God. They are seen seperately or collectively (all together.) When Jesus was being baptized his Father opened the heavens and said this is my Son in whom I am well pleased. Here you see the Father speaking to His Son. The Holy Spirit assended upon Him like a dove. The Father sending the Spirit to His Son. So here we see the Father, Son and Holy Spirit all seperately and all with a different function. Read Proverbs 8:22-36 great explanation of how things began. John 1:1 was always so confusing now it's very easy to understand. Let's use the principal of asking God who. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Who was the Word? Jesus John 1:14. So in the beginning was Jesus and the Word (Jesus) was with God. Who was Jesus with? God. God who? God the Father. So Jesus was with God the Father in the beginning. 2He was in the beginning with God. Who is He? Jesus becauss Jesus was in the beginning with God the Father. 3. All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. Who is Him? Jesus. Read Prov. 8:22-36 We are to baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit the family of God. This vision or word picture God gave to me has made God real to me. I know the Father has a plan for me from the beginning. I know Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father praying and enterceeding for me. I know that the Spirit of the living God lives with in me. I am the temple of the Holy Spirit of God who teaches me, guides me, comforts me in all things, convicts me of sin and helps me pray the perfect will of God. Now I know God. I pray to the Father in the name of His Son Jesus Christ. I thank Jesus for obeying His Father until death to save us from sin, which is death and speration from God eternally. I ask the Holy Spirit to forgive me for greiving Him. Sin grieves the Holy Spirit. We belong to Jesus, we are the body of Christ the kingdom of God and soon and very soon Jesus is going to return (1Thessolonians 4:13-18 and collect the body of Christ His Church, or the bride of Christ, and at one point He will turn the kingdom over to His Father. This is just too simple I know. Sincerely in His Love |

9 | Jesus God. Grasping equality? | Phil 2:6 | rferg | 71134
Many people are confused about the trinity or three in one God. I have heard it explained several different ways and none of them ever made sense to my small mind. I searched the bible for a long time to figure out Jesus, God, Father, Holy Spirit to understand how all this worked. I prayed and ask God to help me because I was so frustrated and this is what I got. I will share it with you. I'm sure you haven't heard anything like it before so try to think about it before you toss it out. God is a Spiritual family in heaven. God is their last name (Abba-Father God, Jesus Christ the Son of God, The Holy Spirit of God. They are a family with the same last name and there is a chain of command. These all three have the same nature, righteous with out sin but they all have different functions. So even though Jesus is God the Father's Son He is not the Father. They are all three in the family of God. The human family is an example of the heavenly family. There is a chain of command. The father, mother, and children in the earthly family. The family members are all born with the same nature. They all have the same last name. They have different functions but are still in the same family. Like our family, children can be added toGod's heavenly family. When we are baptized we are born into the body of Christ. Because Jesus defeated Satan His father gave him the authroity over the kingdom of God (body of Christ) but at one point in time Jesus will hand back the kingdom to his Father. When you read the bible and you see the word God ask yourself the question God who? God the Father, God the Son or God the Holy Spirit. Sometimes they will be spoke of sperately or collectively. When Jesus was being baptized he came out of the water and the heavens opened and the Father spoke and said this is my Son whom I am well pleased and the Holy Spirt lightened upon Him as a dove. Notice we see all three individually all having a different work. Jesus obeying his Father. The Father sending His Son the Holy Spirit of promise through baptism. The Holy Spirit assending as a dove. A hard verse to understand, not so now. Using the principal of asking God who. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word. and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Who was the Word that was in the beginning? Jesus John 1:14. and the Word was with God. God who? Jesus couldn't be with himself, no he was with his Father God. and the Word was God. God who? God the Son. 2He was in the beginning with God. Who was He? Jesus the Son was in the beginning with his Father God. 3.All things came into being by Him (Jesus), and apart from Him (Jesus) nothing came into being that has come into being. Proverbs 8:22-36 great explanation. I hope this blessed you! |

10 | Entering Heaven | NT general Archive 1 | rferg | 71132
This subject is a debated issue. We hear in church that baptism is an out ward show of the inward work. My question is why do new believers need to show an out ward sign to believers? It dosn't make sense to me. Now if we were showing to the world or lost that we were changed that would be different. Through baptism we die in a shallow grave of water to the old nature and rise a new creation in Christ. The old is past away and the new has come. We are washed in the blood of Jesus (like a blood transfusion) instead of sinful blood we now have the righteous blood of Jesus running through us. We didn't deserve this righteousness but Jesus is our righteousness. Our bodies become the temple of the Holy Spirit. We make a new covenant with God that we will obey his commandments- to love God and to love each other. Some things to think about! Did Jesus need to be baptized for the remission of Sin? NO of course not. I believe he was our example. Why was Jesus baptized before he began to preach the gospel? What happened when Jesus was baptized? He recieved the gift of the Holy Spirit. What if he wouldn't have been baptized as scriture prophesied? He wouldn't be able to give us the gift of the Spirit for one thing. Read the entire book of acts to your son. There is example after example (and I don't just mean one or two) every believer was immediately baptized. 1 Cor. 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. Realize that as a believer that you want to be apart of the body of Christ (not the physical chruch you attend a few times a week). When you are baptized you become part of the body of Christ. You are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise and you cannot be stolen out of His hands. When you are apart of the body (His body) read all of 1 Cor. 12 you will see that you have apart to do in the body of Christ. This is an interesting scripture to me. In John 3 Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher, for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him." Jesus answered and said to him Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again , he cannot see the kingdom of God.4 Nicodemus said to Him, How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mothers womb and be born can he? 5 Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh (born in the physical during child birth) and that which is born of Spirit is spirit. 7Do not marvel that I said to you, You must be born again. You cannot be re-born unless you first die. Notice it says unless you are born of the water and the Spirit, it already talks about being born in the flesh (child birth), many refer to the water in the birth bag as the water it's referring to)but this couldn't be it referrs to being born (physically) as born of the flesh. When we are baptized in water we die to our nature we were born with and we are reborn a new creation by the Holy Spirit of God in Christ. So if we are not baptized we are not born again. Most churches preach other wise. They seem make us believe if we are in a crissis and come to church listen to a sermon and raise our hand and sight a few sentences we are born again. Mark 16:16 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved, but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. Many chose to use the example of when Jesus was on the cross there were two theives. One realized Jesus was the Christ (savior of the world) and he repented. Jesus said he would be him (Jesus) in paradise, meaning heaven. He was not baptised how could he go to heaven? We can use this as an excuse not to get baptized or we can let it show us that God is loving and merciful. If we believed in our heart and we were killed on the way home from church we would certainly enter heaven. But this one example should not overshadow the many scripture that teach us about baptism. I think the problem is that we have been taught that we need to be baptized in the Church by a paster. In the bible it gives us the example that the diciples are the ones who baptized when they presented the gospel to unbelievers. This means you can be baptized in your pool, lake or river by the person leading you to Christ. There is proof of this all through the book of Acts. We don't have to wait for the orgainized chruch once a month or quarterly. So this is what I know from my study on the subject. I hope you will sift through it will a fine tooth comb and move in the direction God has for you and you son. Sincerely |

12 | 4th commandment has been done away? | Ps 111:7 | rferg | 57977
Greetings! The 4th commandment was changed from Sabbath (Saturday) to Sunday many years ago by the Catholic Chruch. Read their book of Caticism (I don't have the name of the book in front of me.) This book explains their doctrine. On pg 51 the Ten Commandments are listed and it is plains that God gave the pope the authority to change Saturday Sabbath to Sunday. We know this is not true. How come the Christian Church worships on Sunday?Because of the doctrine of John Wesly who broke off from the Catholic Church, he brought this doctrine with him. There is nothing and I mean nothing in the bible that says we are to worship on Sunday. We get the names of the days of the week from the false Roman gods they worshipped, such as Sun god, Moon god (Monday), etc. Satan always has a counterfiet for the truth. There is only one TRUE God! The God who created the heavens and the earth and everything in it. He set ONE day aside, sanctificed ONE day, and ONE day is Holy, that is the Sabbath. Read Is 66:23 in heaven we are going to worship on the Sabbath shouldn't we be practicing it now? The bible says in Rev. not to add to or take away from this book. We here a lot about Mormons and other religions but why aren't we mentioning the religions who take away from this book. When you take away a commandment, look out! |

14 | question | Col 2:12 | rferg | 57145
Why do think Jesus was baptized? He didn't have any sin in him! It is clear that the Holy Spirit decended upon him. Matthew 3:16,17 He didn't start his ministry until he had been baptized in water and the Spirit of God decended upon him.
15 | When does newness of life start? | Rom 6:4 | rferg | 56300
Life begins at baptism. We are dead until we are born of the Spirit through baptism. Read all of John 3. Notice Nicodemus came to Jesus and said we know who you are. They knew he was the Christ by the signs that followed him. But even though Nicodemus knew who he was he asked this question, "What must I do to enter he kingom of God?" Jesus said, you must be born again. Nicodemus aske how and Jesus said that which is born of the flesh is flesh (physical birth) and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. He said unless one is born of the water and the Spirt he canot enter the kingdom of God. Whether we are Jew or gentile we are born into a world of sin (breaking the law of God which is the "Ten Commandments". We need to cofess that we have sinned and broke God's commandments, that's why we need a saviour because the punishment for sin (breaking the law) is death (seperation from God eternally.) Now God the Father sent his Son Jesus Christ to die that we may have life eternal in Him. When we are baptized we are dying to our old self and also confessing Jesus before men. Look at all the examples in Acts starting with Pentecost. Notice the three thousand that believed were baptized that day and added to the number. continue to read through the book of Acts and you will realize everyone who believed was baptized immediately and so should we be. |

16 | Is Freedom ours Through Jesus Christ | Gen 1:1 | rferg | 56293
What kind of freedom are you looking for? We have the freedom to choose to receive Christ as our Saviour, and through baptism we are born again into newness of life (we have now been born of water and spirit though baptism). We are no longer under the penalty of death (eternally seperated from God) for breaking the law, which is Gods commandments. We are acknowledging that we are willing to practice obeying his Ten Commadments (law of love) which, brings peace and harmony to the world. There will be no sin in heaven, all will follow the spiritual law of love the "Ten Commandments". Thank God I have the freedom to choose to obey his instruction the Word of God and it will bring eternal life.
17 | Was John's Baptism One of Repentance? | Mark 1:4 | rferg | 56290
Yes, John's baptism is one of repentance. "Sin", is breaking the spiritual law of God the "Ten commandments." If you look at the Ten Commandments you will soon realize you have broken them, that means you along with every one else born into this world is a sinner. Baptism represents several things. When you repent (ask God to forgive you of your sins)you show your belief by baptism (you are confessing God before men), the water represents the grave, you die to the flesh and are reborn of the Spirit. You must be born again to enter the kingdom of God (read all of JOhn 3). Now you are under the faith of grace and can choose to practice obeying the Ten Commandments. |
