1 | How Far Are We To Suffer For Christ? | 1 Pet 4:16 | remorse2 | 206762
We must suffur unto death. The example of Christ on the cross and Shadraq Meshak and Abednigo and the firey furnace are awesome examples. I must point out the legal authorities were persecuting them. Understand the difference is the persecution because of Christianity is different than someone trying to beat you up because they are mean. Here in the U.S. the law does not allow someone to strike you for the fun of it. That means a Christian can call the cops and have them arrested and brought to trial. Of course you will need to forgive them but obeying the law of the land is our obligation as well. So you may need to testify in court. Remember God forgave Moses but God still punished Moses for his fits of rage. Now will your whole life be ruined. Probably. It especially looks like it from your perspective. The disciples thought their life was ruined when Christ died on the cross. Well don't quit. After three days of waiting things looked better. I don't know how long you will need to wait. The new life you will lead will be NEW. Look at it as an adventure. Many modern day Christians in Iran, China and Sudan escape from persecution to safer countries. If you are in the states there are some houses of refuge in the big cities. Look at my profile and email me directly if you need any furthur clarification. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May his countenace fall upon you and give you peace. Albert. |

3 | Do you know a way to get into the Bible? | Heb 8:10 | remorse2 | 206063
Yes I do. I want to congratulate you on your desire to learn the Word. To start with I would recommend getting into a group Bible study that is designed to be an overview of the Old Testament only if it involves reading the bible as part of the homework. The leadership of a good teacher and group discussion will aid in your study. If you want to start on your own I would say read the Gospel of John followed by the Gospel of Luke then read Acts. Then it is time to move to the Old Testament. Read Genesis and Exodus. Now is the hard part. Read Leviticus and Numbers. Yeah!!! Pat yourself on the back you have read a large chunk of the Bible. Now that you have all of those laws in your head read Matthew and Mark and then read Romans. Romans was a little hard to digest so give yourself a break and read Joshua and Ruth now go back and read First and Second Corinthians. Now we have a pattern to finish the book. Read one New Testament followed by two Old Testament books. If the New Testament book has a First, Second and Third read all three. If you want to take it at a more leisurely pace I would recommend Our Daily Bread http://www.rbc.org/index.aspx. It has served me well over the years and continues to do so. In it is a daily devotional and a bible reading plan. Or you can jump in the deep end and start teaching a Sunday school class to the fifth graders in your church. Most Church curriculums are designed to walk the novice through how to study prepare and teach a lesson. This was the avenue I learned the most from. I have used all three of these methods and each teaches you something new. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20 NASB We are to be Disciples. Your desire to read the Word of God is good step in the right direction. A Fellow Disciple Albert |

4 | psychic vs prophet difference | Deut 13:1 | remorse2 | 205721
Excellent question. God has given us two tests to perfom on the "Prophet" 1"If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2and the sign or the wonder comes true, concerning which he spoke to you, saying, 'Let us go after other gods (whom you have not known) and let us serve them,' you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for the LORD your God is testing you to find out if you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 13:1-3 NASB This "Prophet" is leading you away covertly. Just because they know Christian terms does not mean we should trust them. 19 It shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I Myself will require it of him. 20 But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die. 21"You may say in your heart, 'How will we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?' 22"When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him. Deuteronomy 18:19-22 NASB This "Prophet" is leading you away overtly. Our responsibility is to test everything against scripture. God may be testing you and your Love for him. God may be training you in discerning the Word of God. This is good for you. You are being trained by God not to be lead away by false prophets. |

is studying together with unbelievers without giving them the gospel being unequally yoked in ministry No. Studying is not ministry. Luke 3:23 When He began His ministry, Jesus Himself was about thirty years of age Ministry is a service. Studying is diligent learning 2 Tim 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. |

6 | Wisodom has the power to save? | Rom 10:17 | remorse2 | 204148
Faith comes by hearing the word of Christ. Faith is acepting Jesus' death on the cross Word of Christ is Scripture In other words People come to Christ because they hear Scripture 2Tim 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work In my opinion the parables, Sermon on the Mount, are adequate and suitable for certain situations. Personally I don't care what scripture you use just use scripture. You use whatever scripture you need to use at the time. Mind you some scripture is more applicable than others. So you will need to use sound judgment. In review The answer to question one is Yes Hope that helped. |

7 | Must u b Christened to get to heaven | Acts 2:1 | remorse2 | 204066
You said "I desire to do what's right for my family" Please read Deut. 6:4-24 then go back and read Deut. 6:7-9 again. It says when where and how you should teach your child about God. Through teaching my daughter my faith grew stronger. If you don't know something tell your doughter you don't know. Then "Diligently" look for the answer.
8 | how can i learn to pray out lound | Matt 6:9 | remorse2 | 203776
Practice practice practice. My first out loud and in public prayers were probably as long as the verse you have quoted above. I was so scared I would mess it up. Everyone thanked me afterword for the short prayer. I got better by praying out loud during my daily prayers. I would pray in my prayer closet otherwise known as my garage and when I walked the dogs. As my prayer life matured anytime I was away from people I would pray. When people ask who I am talking to I say "God" I have even learned to pray with my eyes open so I don't trip. It was an easy transisition then to move from daily out loud prayer in the closet to out loud prayers in the company of others. In review Pray without ceasing Pray in your prayer closet Pray out loud It is not the number of words you pray but the honesty of the expresion that counts. |

10 | How do we get saved, by baptism? | 1 Pet 3:21 | remorse2 | 203713
Baptizim of the believer is because he/she would like to make an outward show of an inward comitment. The thief on the cross was not baptized yet he went to paradise. That is sufficient proof for baptisim not being necessary for salvation. We baptize out of obedience. The same reason we take comunion. It is for obedience. A new believer has turned from the old sinful life and has started a new life. They show the world this decision when they are Baptized. I believe that you get saved by repenting and believing. After all that is what Jesus said to do. Yet there was no work I did that earned me a spot in heaven. To the unbeliever I say repent and believe. To the believer I say you did nothing to earn salvation. God chose you out of His Grace. |

12 | alcohol scripturally wrong? | Eph 5:18 | remorse2 | 203647
Clearly you should not get drunk. Romans 14:12-15 says any food or drink can be a stumbling block. If it causes your brother to stumble then don't do it. We need to help our brothers and sisters grow in the knowledge and Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is no sacrifice to avoid drinking alcohol if it helps a brother grow. Please read the chapters in their entirity. |

14 | Which One IsThe Correct Way of Baptism? | 1 Cor 12:13 | remorse2 | 203568
The answer I give is a question. What is the purpose of the Baptism? What is the best way to glorify Christ? Do you have a place to be baptised and fully imersed? If I just give you the answer you will only get milk when you need meat and potatoes. It was my first self study as a Christian. I looked up every instance of Baptisim in scripture talked with the pastor who was going to baptise me and made a decision. Because I was in a military chapel I had my choice of the type of Baptism I would receive.
15 | Jesus's birth to ministry | Luke 2:30 | remorse2 | 203455
Jesus' importance could not diminish anymore than God's importance could diminish. To answer what I think is your question I would say that the knowledge of his existance was hidden or disguised. I say this because God sent a message to Joseph to leave. Also Joseph left in the night. My hypothosis is people leaving at night have something to hide. My conclusion is Joseph was hiding Jesus. Matt2:14. Of course the primary reason Jesus went to Egypt was to fulfill prophecy wether Joseph knew it or not. When Joseph returns he is still concerned for Jesus' life so he does not go back to Bethlehem he goes to Nazareth. Matt 2:22 Of course the primary reason was to fulfill prophecy. The primary reason Jesus went to Egypt and Nazareth was to fulfill scripture. But the result was He was hidden from those that wanted to take His life and from the general public. It is my assumption that a lot of people did not know where he was. They just knew He was delivered. |

16 | what are biblical principles | Bible general Archive 4 | remorse2 | 203453
Badgersam this is an excellent question. Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God? Jesus himself answered it best Matthew 22:36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Well here is one way the above commandment shows itself in your life Galatians 5:18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. 19Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control; against such things (AT)there is no law. Now it is impossible for you to be lead by the spirit unless you are a born again believer. Which leads brings me back to Jesus when he was asked what does it take to be born again. John 3:4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?" 5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6"That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7"Do not be amazed that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' Now to get the full understanding of the above quote please read John 3 completely. . I hope this has helped. The above scriptures have helped me. |
