1 | Why be captivated, by adulterss? | Matt 5:27 | rap4him | 36425
It is all about our mind: Jesus taught us in Matthew 5: NKJV Temptation - Adultery in the Heart 27 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, "You shall not commit adultery.' 28But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. Philippians 4: NKJV Meditate on These Things 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. 9The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. 11Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. If we can be with a spouse and do this instruction in Philippians individually AND together (two are stronger than one.. Eccl.), we are well on our way to living out Romans 12- Romans 12 NKJV Living Sacrifices to God Christians Should Lead Transformed Lives 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. 14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. |

2 | should women be ministers and pastors? | 1 Tim 2:12 | rap4him | 36327
Reading over the answers you have received I have yet to read that any other scripture emphasized except from Timothy as to what is being reviewed, discussed and encouraged to be obeyed. Remember, this is the only book in the New Testament that is a specific letter to someone. 1 Timothy 1 :: New King James Version (NKJV) 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope, 2To Timothy, a true son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. Paul is writing it to Timothy. All other letters are to churches, people groups and so on...I have come to the conclusion to keep this in mind when reading Paul's direction to Timothy as he starts his churches...and how this applies to today's church leadership. It was important enough to be placed in the Holy Word and that should influence you greatly. Also, something to think about is that Paul will write with the authority of God from the Law and from the teaching of Jesus and NOTING with references this...if you read this part of the letter he is giving his(Paul's)suggestion to Timothy on how to lead this church. The pronoun structure of the translated Greek suggests Paul speaking...But please remember that there are no letters or writings from women in the New Testament...that is how few women leaders God has called, but He has called us in many ways, keep your trust with Him and He will guide you in the Word. love and grace in Him, Rachel |

3 | CAN WOMEN BE CHURCH LEADERS?? | 1 Tim 2:12 | rap4him | 36322
Can we be leaders? yes....May we be leaders? That is only in the will of God. As scripture teaches...great responsibility comes with teaching and preaching when you are called. just one example..... 1 Corinthians 9 :: New King James Version NKJV - ...of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel! 17 For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship. 18 What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel. 19 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; 20 and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; 21 to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ ), that I might win those who are without law; 22 to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23 Now this I do for the gospel's sake, that I may be partaker of it with you. 24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. Paul doesn't restrict all this to just men... I do believe the scripture gives us wonderful expamples of women leaders such as The wife of Isaiah, Deborah, Judges 4:4-5 :: New King James Version NKJV 4 Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, was judging Israel at that time. 5And she would sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the mountains of Ephraim. And the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. Esther, Mary the mother of Jesus, Lydia, and all the Marys who were close friends with Jesus when He was here the first time....but you see there is such a small percentage of women named then men and I take this into careful consideration of what God is showing me how as a woman I am directed by His Word to give my service to Him. But there are times when I am asked to teach on the Word and-or with the Word share how Jesus taught us to live and to love in our lives today with one another... I don't know if that would be considered preaching or not...I say no because of the inconsistency of those times. Anyway(I don't want this to become a sermon:), when it is in God's will, it is the Holy Spirit speaking through us and we need not worry in those times (Matthew 10) In John, Jesus emphasizes how much this is all for God's glory and not ours, I think that applies to teaching and preaching for all people-Jew or Greek, Man or Woman- Remember it is not what goes into our mouths but what comes out Matthew 15:16-18 :: New King James Version NKJV just trust Jesus...we are His...for eternity and stay VERY prayerful and in the Word Colossians 3, Psalm 119 In His Grace, Rachel |
