1 | Are the unevangelized people really lost | Rom 2:15 | pixie | 83921
I've been looking for a chapter that I read in the bible about 7 yrs ago which says something to the effect that those who have never heard of God or the gospel will be judged by their actions according to their conscience. In other words if they do something and their conscience tells them it's wrong to do it then God judges them because of what their conscience told them. If somebody does anything believing it is wrong then to him it is a sin. If anybody knows where in the bible I can find this please respond.....thanks....Pixie |

"Simple" seems to be a little difficult to do when explaining this. I like to put it like this...When the River water goes rushing past and you take a bucket and catch some, then freeze it, you have River water in 3 forms. One form flows freely, one form is solid which is much more restricted and can be crushed, broken and otherwise harmed. The final form is in the bucket, able to be poured out upon the earth. They are all River water but different. Take the ice, put it in the bucket water, wait till it melts then pour it back in the River. It all mixes and flows together. There is no longer any distinction. ......Visualize this over a period of time and it will become clear...God bless...
4 | Do we always have to debate? | Bible general Archive 1 | pixie | 22666
Hi, I think opinions are necessary for bible study. If someone wants to study simply the words of the bible they can pick up a dictionary. I, however, prefer to study the meaning. It is inevitable when one studies the bible that the question would be asked "what does that mean" How on earth do you suppose that the answers are going to come back unanimous? I also find it interesting that you would comment on allowing only "the right answer". Only the author of "The Book" knows the right answer. As far as the disclaimer goes, I think the lack of scriptural reference probably is already recognize as a disclaimer. Forgive me if I missed the meaning of your post but I was bothered by what I interpreted. I guess that shows that some will misunderstand opinions whether right or wrong...Peace....Pixie
5 | meaning of Life | Bible general Archive 1 | pixie | 21775
Hi, I think the meaning of life is to be God's friends. He created us to have someone who would love him because we want to and not because we have to. Unfortunately too often in this friendship we are not as good at being a friend as He. We can cry on His shoulder and He'll listen but do we always listen to Him? We can ask to BORROW and He will GIVE freely but do we give much to Him. He calls us just to say "hi" but many of us won't call Him unless we need something. Yes, we were put here to be His friends. This is just my philosophy though it might sound a little sentimental.....pixie |

6 | Is Paul including here the Ten Commandme | Rom 7:1 | pixie | 21771
What exactly are you asking? I have read this over and over and am not understanding. The Law is for all who recognize it as God's statement of what He considers sin. We are no longer bound by this law but if one knows it's wrong and still does it, he will be held accountable. I hope this is somewhat close to what you were asking.....pixie
7 | New Testament/ Old Testament | Matthew | pixie | 20988
Hi Leroy......to make it simple, testament is another word for "promise" or something similar. The "old testament" is the old promise beginning with God's creation of universe and man. In the old testament we had to follow God's laws and make animal sacrifices for our sins. Jesus was spoken of and prophesied but did not yet exist on this earth in human form. The New Testament is the new promise beginning with the Angel informing Mary that she would have a baby and he would be the savior of the world. In the New Testament we read of the life and death of Jesus. There are no more animal sacrifices because Jesus paid the final sacrifice for our sins. In short, the Old testament is before Jesus' birth and the New testament is after....God bless you in your studies. |
