9 | woman being silent in Church | 1 Tim 2:11 | pcdarcan1 | 137321
The application of the apostle Paul’s inspired command are understood in the light its context. When Paul wrote, the Chriatian meetings of the congregation at Corinth, including those meetings where "unbelievers" were present, lacked order. More than one person at a time would begin prophesying or speaking in a tongue. (1 Cor. 14:22-32) Evidently some women there would raise challenging questions and dispute with men appointed to teach the congregation. Thus these women were actually assuming the position of teachers and ignoring the position of headship assigned to the man.—1 Cor. 11:3. Correcting the situation, Paul called attention to the fact that God is a God, not of disorder, but of peace. (1 Cor. 14:33) Respecting women, he wrote let the women keep silent in the congregations, for it is not permitted for them to speak, but let them be in subjection, even as the Law says. If, then, they want to learn something, let them question their own husbands at home, for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in a congregation. (1 Cor. 14:34, 35) This admonition is in agreement with Paul’s later words in his first letter to Timothy to let a woman learn in silence with full submissiveness. Paul said under inspiration: I do not permit a woman to teach, or to exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence.—1 Tim. 2:11, 12. |

12 | Can satan see the face of God? | Rev 12:7 | pcdarcan1 | 137292
At the time of Job, Satan and his demons had access to God, but not after the events of Rev 12:7-9 "Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, who fought back with his angels; but the dragon was defeated, and he and his angels were not allowed to stay in heaven any longer. "The huge dragon was thrown out - that ancient serpent, named the Devil, or Satan, that deceived the whole world. He was thrown down to earth, and all his angels with him." So, he no longer has access to heaven and thus the face of God. Rev 12:12 goes on to say: "And so be glad you heavens, and all you that live there! But how terrible for the earth and the sea! For the Devil has come to you, and he is filled with rage, because he knows that he has only a little time left." |

13 | what is love for God and your neighbour | Matt 6:20 | pcdarcan1 | 137278
Love for God means finding out his will and doing it. You must read his word of truth (John 17:17) For neighbor, love means so many things - even as it does with God. There's no one answer and the Bible is full of many ways that we show love for God and neighbor - Mt 7:1 contains details such as not judging your neighbor. (Reference James 1:27) |

14 | meaning of mark 5:19 | Mark 5:19 | pcdarcan1 | 137276
Jesus did not let the man healed from demon possession to follow him; but notice the witness that that man gave on Jesus' behalf in the very next verse! Mark 5:20 "So the man left and went all through the Ten Towns, telling what Jesus had done for him. And all who heard it were amazed." I believe Jesus knew what was going to happen and wanted this man to witness about him in his home town. |

15 | Who's at the circumcision debate in Acts | Acts 15:2 | pcdarcan1 | 137252
The Bible provides only limited detail about the composition of an early governing body, most of the information being in Acts chapter 15. That account indicates that in 49 C.E. that a group of Christian men forming the governing body consisted of “the apostles and older men in Jerusalem.” Who were these?—Acts 15:2, 4, 6. James, the half brother of Jesus, presided at that meeting to discuss the question of whether Gentile converts to Christianity had to keep the Mosaic Law, including circumcision. The apostle Peter shared in that discussion. The account speaks of Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas as “leading men among the brothers,” but it does not specifically say that they were part of that governing body in Acts 15. (Acts 15:7, 13, 22) The “sect of the Pharisees” are believers who were once associated with the Pharisees, the very ones who took a side against Jesus. The ones of that sect who became believers also brought their old ways (you may say) into the congregation and tried to insist that circumcision was necessary for believing Gentiles in order to get saved. Of course, the book of Acts tells the outcome. Hope that helps. |

17 | Why no love herein? | 2 Cor 11:5 | pcdarcan1 | 137200
Hi, I'm going to get to the bottom of this... you can see my posts that have been restricted and I've included my serious intentions in them in order to see to it that all these bullies who have conspired to push their own beliefs are brought to justice. That is not what this forum was intended for -that a few elite would conspire to get people kicked off anytime they disagreed with reasonable and scriptural posts. Don't anyone leave the forum - this could take some time but I need all the support I can rally because the corruption may be deeper than you or I imagine - remember Enron? God will prevail, he always does and he will never forsake truth seekers - never! |

18 | Which prophet ate a book? | Rev 10:9 | pcdarcan1 | 137173
Ezekiel did as commanded and gradually ate a sroll. (Ezek. 3:1-3) Surprisingly, the gloom-laden sroll was sweet as honey in Ezekiel’s mouth. This was because it was a good, wholesome, sweet experience for Ezekiel to be assigned a special work at the hand of the Most High God. |

20 | Be Angry and Sin Not , Verse Reference? | Eph 4:26 | pcdarcan1 | 137148
Some additional scriptural thoughts to consider from the same letter to the Ephesians: Unrestrained venting of anger is one feature of this world’s spirit (Compare Eph. 2:1,2). Many worldly people lose self-control easily. They blow up, then excuse themselves by saying that they were just letting off steam. But this is not what Paul advised, for he wrote: “Get rid of all bitterness, all passion and anger, harsh words, slander, and malice of every kind.” (Ephesians 4:31) But what if anger builds up despite our developing self-control and other fruits of God’s spirit? “If you are angry, let it be without sin,” wrote Paul. “The sun must not go down on your wrath; do not give the devil a chance to work on you.” (Ephesians 4:26, 27) So if we are provoked to anger, we should settle the matter quickly, before the day ends. Otherwise, bitterness and resentment begin to take root in the heart, and they are hard to uproot. Do not allow yourself to breathe in the angry, vengeful “air” of this world!— Psalm 37:8 contains excellent scriptural advice: “Give up your anger, and forsake wrath; be not vexed, it will only harm you.” I have read that frequent anger, especially uncontrolled anger is bad for your heart – you may have read the same. |
