a dead person is saved when he receives life. it is the spirit who gives life. it is the spirit who give assurance that we are saved. we receive the spirit when we understand and believe, accept that our sins have been forgiven.we trust in the work of christ on the cross and receive the gift of life from the spirit. it is not forgiveness that saves us, everyone is forgiven. it is life that saves us. |

sin is not forgiven without payment. if you are in debt and the debt is forgiven then the one to whom it was owed has suffered the loss. christ died on the cross as payment for all sin for all time. therefore you cannot out sin grace. but the question is raised repeatedly. why sin? is there profit in it or lasting satisfaction? isn't it against your nature as a christian to sin? all the sins of all the people for all time has been paid for and therefore forgiven. it is not the forgiveness of sin that saves man, it is life that saves a dead man. we were dead but now we are alive. romans five...we are saved by his life. (not by forgiveness of sin) |

jesus said in the upper room, this is my blood the blood of the new testament. testament is will and testament. when jesus died his will and testament was executed in the second chapter of acts. the gift was given out and the gift was the holy spirit who was poured out on all believers. brothers we are not drunk but this is that... at this point the scriptures was divided. we are in the new covenant period where we are to obey the spirit and not the law. the law kills but it is the spirit which gives life. |

the law is in the book of Lev. it includes the ten commandments and the curses and blessings. if you can imagine paul on the road to damascus realizing that he was persecuting people for not keeping the law that he himself was not able to keep fully. that is probably when he came to himself and said, oh, miserable man that i am. and threw himself upon the mercy of god. |
