1 | Justify Leviticus 20:13 | Lev 20:13 | llesman | 60321
Hmmm, Justify... That's pretty easy Genesis 1 The History of Creation The Creation (1) 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. see, it all BELONGS to God so Romans 9 19You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?" 20But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?" 21Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor? 22What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, 23and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory,... There will be no profit to resisting the will of God. Obedience is the only path to eternal dividends. |

2 | Men of this generation | Luke 7:31 | llesman | 60320
Jesus is comparing the Pharisees and lawyers to children "playing church" with one another but never really understanding the spiritual truths. Then justifying themselves by themselves. The key to understanding is the "To what then" in vs 30 which refers back to the observations made in vs 28-29: 29And when all the people heard Him, even the tax collectors justified God, having been baptized with the baptism of John. 30But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him. Jesus concludes: "To what then shall I liken the men of this generation, and what are they like? 32They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, saying: "We played the flute for you, And you did not dance; We mourned to you, And you did not weep.' 33For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, "He has a demon.' 34The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, "Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' 35But wisdom is justified by all her children." |
