1 | Gen 41:38 Spirit of God or divine spirit | Bible general Archive 2 | lgtg | 116586
Ray, Grace be to you brother!! Thank you for taking time to share and fellowship with me. I read your bio Ray and will keep you in prayer and can see that indeed the Lord is with you in your journey through this cancer in your life. Ray, at some risk I will try to answer your questions as if you have not allready noticed I have been warned by two other brothers about my comment in this thread yet I have been served no reason or explination on what I have said that was wrong. I would welcome any correction as long as it will serve to glorify God and not man. To answer your questions; I am partial to the NKJV as it has been available here in my home but over time I am acquiring other translations for greater amplification.... I have been known to read from the Message Bible, Ampliphied and the New Living Translation. In context to what I was saying in my post, I would have to say it was leaning to the NKJ I am reading in your post above.I would like to ass some additional verses that support my comment and all will be from the NKJV; - 1 Corinthians 3 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? -1 Corinthians 2 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. - Romans 8 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. -Romans 8 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. The Lord said that He would pour out His Spirit upon all flesh....Which to me is astounding because in what Ive come to understand that when the word flesh had been used in this context it usually had a negative bearing. In other words God didn't have a whole lot of interest in our flesh because it is highly corrupted. But to imagine the Lord pouring his Spirit on ALL flesh will be quite some event. Ray, don't know if I have said what you have asked but I know that I have been blessed by communicating with you my friend and that I hope to again have a chance. Take Care and I shall pray for your cancer my friend. Larry |

3 | How can I deal with satan showing hiself | Bible general Archive 2 | lgtg | 116486
Shey, After further study and meditation on the verses I found regarding dreams and visions and using your account and testimony I want to add that it is entirely possible that God is trying to warn or communicate something to you. You saying that you felt something weighing you down may indicate the awsome and terrifying presense of God. The fact that you said you could not move or pray my mean that the Lord was wanting to say something to you but your ears would not hear. The Lord may have been encouraging you to be still so that you would here the "still small voice" i would definately consult your Pastor or some bretheren or sisteren of mature order in your church, Pray to God, ask him to protect you, ask him to help you learn the meaning of your dream, if you experience it again, try to not panic, remain still, silence yourself and see if you hear anything. I will pray for you. If God is with you, none can stand against you. |

my friend....your recent return to the Lord is my guess. when we make a conscience effort to live our lives for God, it raises flags to the enemy. this is a classic attack on someone who has made a new covenant to God. While lucifer cannot affect your eternity because of the blood of Christ on you he can and will seek to devour your earthly life and cause you suffering to no end. you ever wonder why the unsaved dont seem to have to out up with the afflictions Gods children do? there is no need to afflict them!! they are sufficient on their own to damnation without Jesus. they are fish swimming downstream, no need for any help, but when a fish is swimming upstream ("take the narrow path for the path to destruction is wide") then there are alarms. My suggestion my friend is start attending a local church, ask to prayed over with "the laying on of hands" and be vigilant ot confess any hidden sin you may be harboring. May the peace of the Lord be with you and find a strong tower in Him.
5 | Children and the age of accountability | Bible general Archive 2 | lgtg | 116442
bnbtoledo7...Hello and God Bless You!! As far as salvation goes...See Ephesians 2:8 -This verse is saying that there is no earthly act that can assure your salvation. It is by the grace of God and of the blood of Christ. As far as the age of accountablility, I know of no scripture (that doesnt mean there isnt any) dealing with it but it is generally understood by many denominations and faiths that the age of accountablility comes when your child has the capacity to comprehend moraltiy, salvation, God and the concept of Jesus and the way of the cross in its fundamental form. For some, it depends on how soon a parent exposes hteir children to the belief. I mean, they catch on to santa easy enough at about two years old don't they? for some it comes later. i think hebrew or jewish tradition bears some gravity as well as it is celebrated as a bar mitzvah at thirteen i believe (i would welcome any validation or confirmation on that) test my opinion out and let me know how you feel. i beleive that very young children, such as infants and toddlers are not that far removed from the hand of God that they would bear any judgement. |

6 | What's the Bible's take on homosexuality | Bible general Archive 2 | lgtg | 116436
Good Question... I think that first you should ask yourself if you believe that the Bible is the inerrent Word Of God and that in its present form still speaks Gods word across time for all situations. If the answer is yes then you need only seek what Gods reaction to Homosexuality and Lesbianism was then. "God is the same yesterday, today and forevermore" In other words..His word then is His word today. It is not the Homosexual or Lesbian that God hates, It is the sin of sexual immorality. Those are His children, his creation, they are tragicly afflicted by a lie of the deciever. We should have compassion on them as Jesus does, not on the way that they live.
