1 | Why does he fall asleep at church? | Luke 8:15 | journey_me | 153258
It is not the devil hindering your husband, it is your husband hindering himself. He says he believes in God, but he doesn't understand and he hasn't a clue what all that entails. He needs to first find his passion for Christ, so that he may be hungry for the word. It could be that he is at a church where he is unable to grow spiritually. He needs to find a church home, where he is moved by the spirit. I had the same experience years ago. I thought church was boring because I wasn't hungry for the word, it was something my mom made me do. One day I heard a sermon and it changed my life. I began to want to know more about God, and I started reading the bible. I found myself anxious for the next sermon. It sounds like he believes in God because he thinks it is the right thing to do, similar to a kid in church. He doesn't realize that christianity is about a personal intimate relationship with God, and not just about sitting in church. It may also be that he doesn't know his God given puurpose in life, in which many of us don't, because we don't have faith, we have religion. The best thing to do is to pray about it, and trust God will lead you to a church or person that will spark his spiritual motivation. Last, don't force him or push God on him. By this I mean, some people are more gifted in discussing Christ than others. This does not mean, you can't talk about God with your husband. This simply mean, there may be others who can spark the flame. Sometimes as a spouse we try so hard that husbands or wives become put off by our actions and they associate it with church or Christ. Be patient. I hope this helps. |

2 | Do you have to know Christ? | Eph 2:8 | journey_me | 146650
God created two ways to enter the kingdomof heaven. The first was through the law, and the second was through Christ Jesus, Jesus died so that we would be free from the law, and have a chance to enter the kingdom of heaven. Those that do not know Jesus and those that do not believe in God cannot enter heaven. They are not condemned to hell, but they will not know eternal life. How can someome go somewhere that they don't believe exists or that they don't have faith in? I think what the Pastor was saying, is that there is another way to know God other than through Christ, and that is by following the law. The law is the covenant that God made with the Jews in the Old Testament. However, in Ephesians in clearly states that the law (works) along will not allow you to enter the Kingdom, you must have faith. So people who just do good things, need to also believe in God and practice the old covenant, or believe in grace by Christ. |

3 | Did Jesus punish anyone, that is, an ind | Matt 18:6 | journey_me | 146634
I am interested in the answer to your question. I noticed that all of the post due not answer the question or provide evidence, they come close, but they still fall short. Jesus said it would better for him to drown, but he doesn't say what the alternative is. We can, of course infer several option, but this quote doesn't quite answer the question.

Where does the mind dwell inside of you? Where does love dwell inside of you? The answer is not the brain and not the heart, that is just where we feel it. You would need to have experienced the Holy Spirit in order to answer that question.

8 | if i get a christain tattoo is it sin? | OT general | journey_me | 92858
The way in which it is stated, is that you should not get any tattoos, period. Markings for the dead refer to carvings, piercings, and mutilation to honor ancestors or passed love ones. Tattoos were looked upon as a pagan rituals and therefore would not be used to honor God. One thing you may want to note is that this passage however was taken out of the old testament before Christ. Many of the works stated in Leviticus 19 was before Grace. For example, not being able to shave your sideburns or beard. Clearly we do not practice that law today. Try looking for other passages regarding this topic in the New Testament, that would be your best guide. |
