1 | Joann ... Why not use your gift ? | Romans | josiebible | 91899
I am a new Christain who is filled with the Holy spirit. I do not totally understand the gift of the Holy Spirit, so I have had to go through a fear of it. I believe of course this fear is of the enemy and I am working through the doubts and fears of what man will say about me or to me.I also attend a Baptist church where there is little taught on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and most do not agree with it. I prayed for this gift for a long time and than when I got it it took me a while to believe it was really the gift of the Holy spirit. It just sounded so strange to me and I allowed satin to lie and tell me it was just a bunch of garble and meant nothing. I have since prayed to God to reveal to me the truth and His word says,"Acts 2:38-39"you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit for the promise is to you..." It is a promise if we ask Him. When I pray in tongues I am built up and encouraged. I believe God is praying a perfect prayer through me. It is a mystery and I certainly do not understand what I am saying but I am certain of one thing God is praying for my needs. I have just started telling family and friends that I have this gift and some have a strange look and tone in there voice and try to put more doubt in my mind that this is from my enemy. So you see what I am trying to say? Not that it is right for me to do that. I am not sure if this is a correct approach or not. Under the circumstances it might be the best approach for now. I am praying for God to lead me to the Church of His choice. I do know about 1 Cor 14. The way I understand this gift is that God seeks people to worship in spirit and truth and He loves for us to pray in tongues. When we speak in tongues in a Church it must be directed from the Holy Spirit and if there is not an interpreter than that is proof that that person should not have spoken out. This is not good for the unbelievers and believers either. A new Christain should be very careful with this don't you think? Well, it is late and I am so tired I can hardly think any longer. Hope this answered your concerns. Thanks for the responce. God Bless, Joann
2 | Joann, "An unknown language?" | Romans | josiebible | 91896
Searcher56; Acts 2:4 "Says, and they were are filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the spirit gave them utterances." So sorry I miss qoted the correct words. I was thinking that what we are saying is unknown to us, so i knew what I meant but no one else would be able to read my mind would they? I am sorry about that. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. God Bless, joann
3 | josiebible, where does it say we can ask | Romans | josiebible | 91895
Hi Searcher56; That is a good and fair questain and I am trying to remember where I got that from. I am new at this Bible study and not real good at saying what I truely need and intend to say. Here are a few verses that may help to explain where I am coming from. Luke 11:9-13 says: And I say unto you, ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children; HOW MUCH MORE SHALL YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT TO THEM THAT ASK HIM? In the Bible, when believers received the Holy Spirit, they began to speak in a heavenly language, Acts 2:4 says,"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." When you accept the Spirit's indwelling, your spirit will immediately have a desire to express itself in praise to God. The Holy Spirit will give utterance through you as you give Him permission.Does this satisfy your questain? If not I will do some more research. God Bless and thanks for responding to my remarks. This is how I learn to. Joann |

4 | Holy (GHOST) Received but not Realized? | Romans | josiebible | 91773
Hi George: I received the Holy Ghost and did not realize it for a while. I think it was because I did not understand. I Now speak in an unknown language that is a mystry to me. But I know this that God is praying through me a perfect prayer. And I am edified and encouraged. I am a new Christain and have a lot to learn and understand. The Bible does say this gift is for all who ask and believe. I do not speak in other tongues in Church or around other people who do not understand. This is between me and God and I want all that God wants me to have. Hope this helps. A Christain, Joann Any further questains please feel free to email me at jmmgjmrtn@earthlink.net

6 | Searching for the truth | Acts | josiebible | 91410
1Thess.5:23 says: Now May the God of peace Himself sanctify you INTIRELY; Intirely means wholly, full, totally, thoroughly, ect! If you believe and have faith in the word as THE absolute TRUTH and obey His commands, THAN YOU WILL BE PRESERVED COMPLETE, WITHOUT BLAME AT THE COMING OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, V.24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass. Do you believe God is faitful, than you do well to believe that what His word says will come to pass. When you believe in your heart and confess " Jesus Christ is Lord," God does something inside of you. The real you, the spirit man , is recreated and becomes alive. John 3:6 says " the spirit gives birth to spirit. The Holy Spirit comes into your life and causes your human spirit to be born again. You can not figure this out with the human mind. It is of the spirit of God. John 3:3 "Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." "WoW" corinthians 5:17 tells us, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;the old has gone, the new has come!"When you believe in Jesus and confess Him as Lord you are changed inside. Not your body and not your mind, but the real you, the spirit man. You probably won't feel any different and you won't look any different but spiritually speaking, you are a new creature! You are no longer separated from God. You now are born of the Holy spirit. You have fellowship with the Father and Jesus. Your name is written in The Book of Life and you are a part of the family of God. Water Baptism is to take place after you are born again.Acts 8:36,37. Notice Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." Water Baptism is an outward sign of what has happened inwardly after we are born again.Romans 6:3-5.The baptism WITH the Holy Spirit is a filling of the Whole life of a believer with the supernatural power of the Spirit. We are BORN of the Spirit to be a part of God,s family. We are FILLED with the Spirit to be victorious and fruitfull in God's family.Acts 1:4,5,8. Acts 2:1-4. This was the beginning of the New Testiment Church age, which we are in now. We have the same Father, same Savior, same Spirit, same Word, and same Faith. They were the beginning of what is still happening today. The experiencing of the new birth and the baptism of the Holy Spirit will go on just like Acts chapter two, until Jesus returns. The Spirit of Truth is the Holy Ghost. JOhn 14:16,17. John 1:33, Jesus is the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit. To be born again is something that the Holy Spirit does. To be baptized with the Holy Spirit, or Holy ghost is something that Jesus Christ does.Acts 8:14,15. Acts19:2 If they were the same experience he would not have asked them if they had received the Holy Ghost yet. There are millions of Christians who believe in Jesus, but they have not received the baptism with the Holy Spirit. My prayer is that someone might hear the truth and receive the fullness of what God has for all of us. God bless! Joann |

7 | can u b forgivn if you once turned away? | Luke 15:32 | josiebible | 91266
Mat 22:14 New American Stand "For many are called, but few are chosen." I believe God calls and we have to prove ourself worthy to be chosen. I also believe that it is possible that the people that loose out and fall away could possibly be because they do not obey the first and greatest commandment in the law. Matthew 22:37 If we obeyed this command to Love the Lord Your God With All Your Heart And With All Your Soul And With All Your Mind how in the world could one possibly fall away? We are all sinner's and will fall short of the glory of God! In Mat 26:41 "Jesus told His disciples to keep watch and in prayer for the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Mat. 26:31 "Then Jesus said to them, "you will all fall away because of Me this night, for it is written, I WILL STRIKE DOWN THE SHEPHERD, AND THE SHEEP OF THE FLOCK SHALL BE SCATTERED., God knows the weakness of man and allows forgiveness for our sins when we repent and turn back to Him. He is a murciful God. Mat 28:19,20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 Teaching them to OBSERVE ALL that I COMMANDED you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. I hope this has helped you as much as it has me. God Bless! JosiBible
