1 | what is the gift of descerning spirits? | 1 Kin 3:9 | historian | 174451
The way that I understand the gift of discernment is to know whether someone is speaking truth or not. It may come up in a situation where a person is trying to twist truth but somebody who has the spirt of God with them will recognize the truth, I hope this made sense, also look up 1 Cor. 2: 14
2 | Tithing | Deuteronomy | historian | 174393
The word tithe itself means tenth, I looked at http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/tithe. As for biblical reference I count five and they are, (Gen. 14: 20, Gen 28:22, Num 18:21-28, Mal 3:8-18) I think it is a personal deciscion to pay tithe's, the best way to get an answer as to what you should do is to ask God. Hope this has been some help. Historian |

5 | How many people raised from the dead | 1 Kin 17:22 | historian | 174283
Remeber that there is a difference between being raised from the dead and being resurrected as Christ was. He was the first to be truely the first to be resurrected for in Acts 26: 23 it says quote "That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles." I'm not saying that people hadn't been brought back from the dead like Lazrus, but it wasn't until after Christ's resurrection that numorus individuals were resurrected. Paul taught that resurrection of the dead is the same as Christ's resurrection, meaning that we will be immortal and have a physical body as he did and this is a gift to all from Christ this is found in 1 Cor 15:22 "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." Later in the same chapter is spoken of the resurrection, v 42 "So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is reaised in incorruption (meaning immortal bodies"
6 | apostle | Acts | historian | 174280
The word apostle means "one sent forth" they differ from disciple in that they are called by God to go out into the world to preach Christ's message see Luke 6:13, they also must be ordained as christ ordained the original 12 apostles John 15:16. They are to be Christ's special witness, and ordained meaning that this in the NT times was an office held in the church. Today all can be followers of Christ which is the definition of disciple and spread his word, but the ordination is a significant part. Also only those who hold the office of apostle can ordain other apostles such as was the case when Judas was replaced by Matthias Acts 1:15-26

the decedants of noah from his three sons are Japheth who is the father of the "gentile" nations or the nations of Europe, the second son Ham is the father of the African nations in OT times they were Cush wich is southern Africa, Mizraim which became the nation of Egypt, phut which is Libya, Canaan or Palestine. The last son Shem is the father of the Semetic people.
