1 | According to Deuteronomy 7:1-4; Ezra 9:1 | Gen 1:1 | gospelmann | 167567
Dear Hana, I suggest you read 11cor6:11-18, Malachi2:10-16, and all of 1cor chapter 7. Others might disagree but a christian should not marry a non-christian. If you are already married and then are saved, icor712-16 apply. In Christian Love, Dan |

2 | Biblical Interpretation? | John 7:17 | gospelmann | 167311
Just an observation of myself that I'll offer. I have noticed that when ever I didn't like what God was telling me in his word is when I started doing the most "interpreting". I have come to the sometimes painful conclusion that God said what He meant, and meant what He said. I need to do less interpreting and more accepting. As for application, John chapter14:15 says, "If you love me keep my commands", He didn't say if it was convenient or culturaly acceptable, or if I wanted to. He said If I love Him. That 4 letter word just took application to a whole new level. In Christian Love gospelmann |

3 | what is the church of christ? | Bible general Archive 3 | gospelmann | 167283
You have asked what might seem like a simple question but it actually can be very deep and creat some arguements over how it is defined. In the simplest and most general terms it is a reference to the body of Christ (see Rom12:3-5 and Eph4:1-6)or in other words the collective, unified group of believers in Christ, past, present and future. The use of the term church of Christ appears in most denominational literature and is often considered as part of their name. An example would be "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" or the official name of the Catholic Church which is "The Holy Roman Catholic Church of Christ". You will also see "The church of Christ" alone on some places of worship. I personally belong to this group. Some would say that we are just another denomination but I would disagree. We are simply the body of Christ, no less and no more.(Rom16:16)
4 | How does the verse help Paul's argument | 1 Cor 6:16 | gospelmann | 162272
You must also consider the greater context of to whom Paul was teaching this to. In corinth there were all kinds of pagan temples one of which was the temple of aphrodite. It is estimated that there may have been up to 1000 temple prostitues there. The idea being that to worship aphrodite you had to go have sex with one of the prostitutes. Paul may have been trying to reach some who had come out of that religion and explain to them that with Christ sex is for marriage.
5 | Do animals have souls? | Bible general Archive 3 | gospelmann | 162271
there is an obscure reference to the souls in animals found in psalms, though off hand I can't remember the verse. I do remember that when I studied it I thought that the context did not lend itself to actual doctrinal standing but was rather a matter of poetic license. O f course you might also be refering to the old joke the answer to which is Jonah and the great fish.

7 | Why did God make Saul his men? | 1 Kings | gospelmann | 161964
It would be pure speculation but from 1Kings8:7-18 and the physical description of Saul found in 1Kings9:1-2 I would say that God was giving them the kind of leader they thought would be best for them. Compare Saul with the description of Jesus found in Isa52:13-53:6. We always focus on the outward apperance much to our demise.
8 | What to do with murders on Earth? | Romans | gospelmann | 161754
I assume you are refering to what kind of punishment should be done to those who commit murder. The answer is found in the above mentioned scriptures. The conflict for christians is that we all stand in need of mercy and so we feel conflicted over punishing a crime, especially if the possible punishment is the death penalty. The Bible teaches that God has given each government the authority to punish criminals. Interestingly enough this instruction comes from Paul who was beheaded by the Romans rulers and from Peter who was crucified upside down again by those rulers. The abuses of authority does not change what the scripture teaches: Governments have the authority to determine and carry out punishment.Rom13:4 and 1Peter2:14
