1 | Can we learn anything from Naaman? | 1 Sam 15:22 | glory777 | 127316
Definitly obedience, even if it seems picky. Doing the little things for God, even if they seem unpleasant and very humbling, bring great rewards. It is easy to do great things that get noticed and in the process you are elevated. The Lord can not mend something that is not broken. Naaman needed to be broken to see the work of the Healer. 2 | How to love neighbors we don't like | Mark 12:31 | glory777 | 97791
One sure fire way to at least "like" your enemies is to pray for them. Even people who annoy you. On my way to church this morning, there was a car ahead of me going about 50 miles an hour and I had no way to pass him. I was a little annoyed, to say the least. Then I remembered to pray for him. I asked God to bless him, to give him traveling mercies and to reveal Himself to the man, drawing him close to Him. By the time I finally got to where I could pass him, I could smile and bless him in truth. Now I wish I could remember to do that all the time! Also, if you know what causes that person to be so unlovable it would help. Is it because he/she is craving attention or has a "false front" because of great insecurity? There is usually a reason behind a persons unlovability and if you can look at it that way, you can feel compassion, prayer comes easy and it helps to ease the dislike. Ask for the heart of Jesus who loved all and died so all could come to Him if they choose. This person could be a brother/sister in Christ, if not now, in the future. God bless, Debbie |

3 | Pets in heaven after death. | Bible general Archive 2 | glory777 | 96935
floorman- Hank is right, there is no scripture saying that animals go to Heaven. However, scripture says that Christ will return riding a white horse (Revelation) and about animals living in harmony with mankind after the Lord returns. I would love to believe that the Lord has a special place that the animals go after death, and who's to say He doesn't - you couldn't find a book big enough to put all that the Lord has done or can do in it - but scripture doesn't tell us so. 4 | How do you say "repent" gently? | Acts 3:26 | glory777 | 96934
Aixen7z4- I may be wrong, but I don't think a person can come to the point of accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior unless he comes to the point of repentence. If you are not broken, knowing how needy you are for a Savior, you will not accept One. That involves brokenness, and in that brokenness a desire to change, something we can't do on our own. It is having a deep sorrow, not just being sorry, for the way you are living, but a desperation, knowing nothing you can do can make you acceptable in the eyes of God, and knowing that only Jesus death and ressurection can make you acceptable. Only the Holy Spirit working in someone can make him understand this. It is only so many words to those who won't believe. God bless, Debbie |

amenbob- Please go to quick search and type in divorce. You will find a lot of scripture verse references to help you out. I do know that God hates divorce as He states in Malachi, He is a God who forgives and wants us to be like Him, but He also has made some allowances where divorce is not condemned. Try the search, it might help. Debbie |

8 | Question re: Job | Job | glory777 | 72517
boowig- In the Old Testament, as now, everything that happened was ordained or allowed by God. They knew who was in charge. We know that Satan is the source of evil, but God gives choice. God also knows what is happening and what the future is and every second that will happen in our lives. So, in a sense they were correct in stating that trouble came from God, and although Job went through the test, with God's knowledge, God also knew how the test would come out - which is something that Satan still does not realize! Peace- Debbie |

9 | Can men wear earrings? | Ex 32:2 | glory777 | 71995
lwakiri- At that time, men and women wore earings and women wore noserings, etc. The men also wore dresses with not too much on underneath, it seems to me, as the Lord said in Leviticus that the priests had to make sure to wear linen trousers when ministering to the Lord. What they wore at that time has not too much bearing on today's customs. All we are told to do as far as dress and adornment is be modest. debbie |

10 | Brother's harsh letter - re: Mormon | Bible general Archive 1 | glory777 | 71992
dat- I love 1 Cor. chapter 7. I have kind of been in your mess, divorced twice, and i know the forgiveness the Lord has. You have already repented of the divorce and acknowledged that it was wrong. That was the first step. Now it is time to move on. I am also married to a man, who although is Christian in the denominational sense of the word, does not understand the personal relationship of being a Christian. This is just as hard. However, since I gave my life to the Lord, repented of what I had done in my past and gave the future to Him, I have seen miracles happen in my life in my husband. It has not been easy, but trying ot live the way the Lord wants me to live, showing His love to my husband has worked changes him. By your actions, you may be working with the Lord to change your husband and bring him to a saving relationship with the Lord. I agree with EdB. Talk to your pastor. And read the bible and PRAY, PRAY, PRAY! Debbie |

11 | Is it alright to talk/pray to the dead? | Deut 18:11 | glory777 | 71991
sailordancemix- I am sorry for your loss. It is hard. 2 Samuel 18:33 tells how David mourned after the death of his son, Absolam and called out his name. I don't believe he thought that Absolam actually heard him, he was just grieving. But instead of talking to your dead, talk to God. HE will hear you and give you comfort. If your loved one died in Christ, he/she is right now worshipping Him face-to-face, and I don't know how long it would take before he would want to take his focus off of Him. May the Lord Jesus give you an extra measure of peace and may you recognize His joy in the middle of your grief. Debbie |

16 | Luke 23:24 is this request granted? | NT general Archive 1 | glory777 | 70626
Johnny- This is a hard question. inmyheart gave some good scripture verses about it. I am thinking, though, that the reason Judas was not forgiven (if he was not forgiven) is because, although he repented of killing - indirectly- an innocent man, he did not acknowledge that Jesus was the Son of God. I think that maybe, if those who took part in the crucifixion realized who it was that they killed, repented of their actions and believed in Him, that they were saved. The man who guarded the Cross acknowledged it. I wrote a short story about this subject, seen from the eyes of a man who could have taken part in it and it is posted at Christian interactive. Just my thoughts. One of those questions that I don't think we will know for sure until we are there. Debbie |

19 | are we allowed to eat meat or not. | Matt 5:17 | glory777 | 68323
celestine6869 If you read Leviticus, you will find all kinds of laws that applied to everything that a Jew would do in his life and in the way he worshipped God. When Jesus came, He fulfilled all the laws so we wouldn't have to. He gave us freedom. When they followed a written code of laws, it kept them separated from the pagans surrounding them. When we follow the Holy Spirit's leading, we are shown as a separate people to those unbelievers around us. Deb |

20 | Why can't humans live perfect lives? | Rom 7:1 | glory777 | 68132
Cong- We do not have the ability not to sin. Even the apostle Paul had to struggle and would fail. Thank Adam and Eve and satan for that. But with God's help we can keep getting better and better, although perfection will never happen until we are with the Lord. Praise God for the blood of Christ. It cleanses us from all unrighteousness. Debbie |
