1 | explain the details about grace and law | Bible general Archive 2 | forgvn | 139327
Grace: Grace is necessary because all men/women fall short of God's Perfectness, and therefore, at one time or another, we don't follow His law. This is called 'missing the mark', or sinning. When we sin, we are considered dead or seperated from God. When Jesus died on the Cross, He became a Living Sacrifice. He took our place of death so that we "shall not perish but have eternal life." (NIV John 3:16). That was His present of grace to us. The Law: Although we have grace, the law is there to guide us so that we can avoid sinning. Because when we sin there are consequences. The law's main purpose is to protect and bless us, rather than restrict or punish us. Also, obeying the laws that God has provided us is our way of worshipping God and showing Him that we love and trust Him so much, that we want to do what He has told us is best. 1 Cor 6:12 (NIV) sums it up quite nicely. The first part of the verse states "Everything is permissible for me..." This is the power of freedom brought about by grace. The second part then says "-but not everything is beneficial." |

2 | Is mastabation a sin? | Bible general Archive 2 | forgvn | 139325
It says that our body is not our own, but our Lord's: "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body." (1 Cor 6:18-20 NIV) |

3 | able destroy both soul and body in hell? | Bible general Archive 2 | forgvn | 139324
Hi, I am not Tess, but I wanted to give you my two cents. When the Bible says "...fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." (NKJV) I don't believe that this can be used as a conclusion to say, as you said, that 'there is no immortal soul'. Although God has intended the soul to be immortal, it doesn't mean that He can't destroy a soul if He feels like it. I believe the point of this verse is that He is the only One with such power and, therefore, we should be afraid of only Him.
