1 | What does "3" stand for in the Bible? | Isaiah | echo | 23490 | ||
Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I once read somewhere, (and I apologize I cannot find where, I tried), that in Hebrew the number system is different from that in English. And that a lot of times numbers will have meanings beyond the values attributed to them. For instance, 7 means completion or perfection, 4 means creation, and so on. I don't know exactly what three means, but it is given importance due to the trinity, the three days prior to Jesus's resurection and so forth. Consult E.W. Bullinger's "Number in Scripture", Kregel Publications. hope that helps, echo |
