1 | Are we back to the absurd view...? | 2 Timothy | disciplermeam | 80998
I've found that the Gospel can be taught even with the Good News Bible. It does an amazing job on Baptism verses: Ac 2:38 - Peter said to them, "Each one of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins will be forgiven; and you will receive God's gift, the Holy Spirit. Ro 6:4 - By our baptism, then, we were buried with him and shared his death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from death by the glorious power of the Father, so also we might live a new life. 1Pe 3:21 - which was a symbol pointing to baptism, which now saves you. It is not the washing off of bodily dirt, but the promise made to God from a good conscience. It saves you through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Col 2:12 - For when you were baptized, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism you were also raised with Christ through your faith in the active power of God, who raised him from death. |

2 | When was the book of Romans written | Romans | disciplermeam | 80996
It was written before the Apostle Paul's death. Jack P. Lewis places the book at about 58 A.D. Interestingly, the book has much to say about salvation. The Roman Road evangelist lesson is an easy way to teach someone the Gospel and help save a soul. Romans 1:16; 3:9,23; 5:6-11; 6:3-5; 10:9,10. I hope this helps. By the way, what do you think of the following verses on Baptism? The following are just a few plain verses...[edited] Matt 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Mark 16:16 "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. Acts 9:18 And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he regained his sight, and he got up and was baptized; Acts 22:16 'Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.' Rom 6:3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Rom 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. Col 2:12 having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 1 Pet 3:21 Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you--not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience--through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, |

3 | Gen 22:6How did old Abraham tie his son? | Gen 22:5 | disciplermeam | 80995
Not sure, perhaps the son was so respectful of his father that he would always submit to him. Which is more than can be said of those today who ignore Jesus command to be baptized. God saves by grace. Make no mistake about it, salvation cannot be earned by human merit. But salvation comes at a specific time, and it isn't when you invite Jesus into your heart (whatever that means). Hello, Peter writes that prophecy is not a matter of one's own interpretation, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. Paul wrote to Timothy that all Scripture is inspired of God...
