1 | Are tree of life and tree of knowlegde d | Gen 2:9 | danieln | 58276
the tree of life is what God gave Adam and Eve so that they could have eternal life Genesis 3:22 And the Lord God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." i think the tree of Knowledge of good and evil was just there to test if Adam and Eve were going to worship/obey God Genesis 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." probably because of an accusation of satan similar to the one he points at Job |

2 | Where was Lazarus for 4 days? | John 11:11 | danieln | 57605
Good question! he was sleeping: John 11:11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. 1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. Psa 146:4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. Ecc 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. i believe that there is no consiousness in death, the dead in christ await the 2nd Advent Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; |

3 | Where does Bible say Jesus is Michael? | Rev 12:7 | danieln | 55692
i dont think it explicitly says it anywhere but the implication is there, i think that Michael is preincarnate(before he assumed a human body) Jesus. 1. the name Michael means 'who is like God?' 2. he and his angels fight the dragon and chuck him out of heaven (Rev 12:7) 3. Contention with the devil (Jud 1:9) 4. 'Prince' of Israel (Dan 10:21) The earlier Protestant scholars usually identified Michael with the preincarnate Christ, finding support for their view, not only in the juxtaposition of the "child" and the archangel in Rev. 12, but also in the attributes ascribed to him in Daniel i guess the reason he is not called Michael now is because he still has his glorified ressurection body. dan |

4 | degrees of heaven? | Matt 5:19 | danieln | 51337
oh yeah, the parable about the dude who hired people to work in his vineyard.. could be interpreted to mean that all people get the same reward, has multiple meanings i think though (like the jews/gentiles now on equal footing etc..) Mat 20:1 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. Mat 20:2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. Mat 20:3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, Mat 20:4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. Mat 20:5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. Mat 20:6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? Mat 20:7 They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. Mat 20:8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. Mat 20:9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. Mat 20:10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. Mat 20:11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, Mat 20:12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. Mat 20:13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? Mat 20:14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. Mat 20:15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? Mat 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. |

5 | degrees of heaven? | Matt 5:19 | danieln | 51336
maybe its not talking about your position in heaven, but how you are reguarded by heaven. to paraphrase: whoever breaks one of the small commandments and and teaches others to do so is viewed(by heaven) as the least(worst) of humankind, but he who practises them and teaches others so is viewed as the greatest. i personally dont believe there are degrees of heaven. |

6 | are there any souls in heaven , | 2 Cor 5:8 | danieln | 51064
hiya, sure there are some souls in heaven.. as in the soul or entirety of our human being Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. notice that god did not insert a soul into adams body but he breathed life into the body and it became a living soul, living soul equals body plus breath of life(spirit) also the soul(being the entirety of the human being) dies when we die Psa 33:19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Psa 56:13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living? Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. as for 1 Thess 4 this chapter is takling about the 2nd comming of Jesus, it talks about how as Jesus was resurected and so shall we. It uses the term asleep to describe the people currently dead which agrees with the rest of scripture Ecc 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Psa 146:4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. |

7 | When did the catholic church go wrong? | Bible general Archive 1 | danieln | 26527
whoa what a thread, imho the biggest problem was probably what Luther was mainly concerned with, Salvation by faith. many people were overjoyed to find out that Jesus loved them so much personally and that he will aways forgive us. as for the first error, that would have to be sunday law ;) |

8 | Did Jesus go to hell after dying? | Ephesians | danieln | 26524
Hey guys, I dont believe he went to hell in the 'traditionalist' sense ;)i think that the fact that Jesus died for our sins is proof that this is the punishment that will be the fate of the unsaved in the end(not unending conscious torment :)). Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 2 Peter 2:6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; Deuteronomy 8:20 Like the nations the LORD destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the LORD your God. Psalm 37:38 But all sinners will be destroyed; the future of the wicked will be cut off. Psalm 92 6 The senseless man does not know, fools do not understand, 7 that though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be forever destroyed. 8 But you, O LORD, are exalted forever. Proverbs 21:28 A false witness will perish, and whoever listens to him will be destroyed forever. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. |

9 | Mark of the beast before or after Christ | Revelation | danieln | 26060
the mark of the beast occurs before the 2nd comming. it is the oposite of the Seal of God, those who worship the beast and obey its laws get the mark of the beast and those who worship God and follow his laws get the seal of God. the mark on the forehead or hand is symbolic of what one believes or of their actions. notice how the Seal of God is only on the forehead you can only recieve it if you truly believe while the mark of the beast can be on the forehead or hand(those who just go along with what is the popular belief/actions)
