3 | should I worry about using NIV over KJV | 2 Tim 3:16 | cupalivinwata | 129735
This is the bottom line, in my opinion.... no, it doesn't matter. If you hunger and thirst for righteousness, you shall be filled (Matthew 5:6). Your Bible will pretty much say the same thing that my Bible says. God's Spirit will fill in the translational cracks. Trust and believe!!! peace and love, cupa.. |

5 | what other names are there for god? | Bible general Archive 2 | cupalivinwata | 129719
There are many names for God. I think that what God is called in the Bible is directly realted to How He reveals Himself to His people. If a people needs salvation. He is salvation. If a people needs provision, He is provision. He is whatever we need. That is part of Who God is. There are at least one hundred different known mmanifestations of God that a name is attributed to... there are Bible study tools that can help you find them in the Greek and Hebrew. I hope that you find God in your search!!! Peace and Love cupalivinwata |

6 | How do you know the Bible is the word of | NT general Archive 1 | cupalivinwata | 129717
I will try to answer this question in two parts. The first part is like answering the question: "how do I know that the bank will have my money in safe keeping after I put it in there?" It is something that you put faith in, even though you may not have substantial evidence other than you believe that your money is there and is safe. The same is true with God and His word. His Word is a promise to all mankind. That when He says something, it is true and faithful. His word says that He is. You have the choice whether to believe it or not. The second part of the answer has to deal with the person of God. Do we really know Him? Can a finite being comprehend an infinite God? Is the God of the Bible really God? Or is He some made up thing by man in order to keep people under some false authority? Is God really who He says He is? If so, then we can take Him at His Word. My advice? Search the Bible. Challenge the Bible. Put it to the test. You'll be surprised at the results! |
