2 | are believers still considered sinners ? | Romans | conlan4k@earthlink.net | 41740
Everyone who lives upon the earth is a sinner. Even the person you might assume to be perfect sins. Your pastor is a sinner, your mother is a sinner and so on and so on. That is why each day we need to pray and remember two things when we pray.1. We need to Praise God for all of his grace and his love and the wonderful life he provides us and the ways that we are blessed.2. We need to ask him to forgive us our sins and to forgive others who have sinned against us. this is a step of faith that is part of our spiritual growth. As we mature as christians we read Gods letter to us the bible and we learn to make decisions that will help us to break bad habits. As we become mature we replace old ways of acting and reacting to people and situations with new ways of acting and reacting . We can not break old or bad habits but we can replace them with positive or constructive ones. This is how we mature. And maybe one day our family will not be able to tell when we have sinned, our friends will not be able to tell when we have sinned, only you and God will Know when you have sinned. I think that is the best that we can do in our walk with the lord. blessings to you and to your walk with God the father, God the son, God the spirit three in one. Fellow sinner in christ conlan4k
3 | more info. on baptism, what way we shoul | Matt 28:19 | conlan4k@earthlink.net | 41735
I suggest that you read about the ethiopian treasurer in Acts 9:22-40. I truely believe that baptism is a step of faith not a way of being saved. My mother is also pentecostal and she told me if I did not receive the holy spirit at baptism I was attending the wrong church. I feel we each have a personal relationship with God that transends the views of man. So even if the ethiopian treasurer received the holy spirit it does not mean that this is what we should all strive for in baptism. The most important part of the story being told here is that it is christ dying on the cross that gives us eternal life. We do not get to heaven by being baptized. There is only one way we can get to heaven and that is through the blood of Jesus. We must admit we have sinned, we must understand that christ died on the cross for our sins was buried and rose again on the thrid day and was seen, and we must choose to have Jesus live inside of us forever. John 3:16 For God so loved the world... Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God 1 corinthians 15:3,4 christ died on the cross for our sins according to the scriptures he was buried and rose again on the third day according to the scriptures Hebrews 9:22 With out the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin John 1:12 But to those who received him to them he gave the right to become children of God. This is the most important part of becoming a christian. Baptism is part of christian growth. We baptize to show that we realize that we would not be able to communicate with God because we are separated not only physically but spiritually from God by our sin. God is perfect. He can not be around sin. We are all sinners. He loves us though and so he provided a way that our sins could be forgiven. It is through christ and the cross it is that simple. When we are baptized we are remembering symbolically that we are reunited with God the father through the cleansing blood of christ who washed us clean of sin when he died for us allowing us to be reunited again with God the father through his son Jesus and to have the holy spirit teach us and help us to grow in our faith as we read the bible, go to church, tell others about christ, pray, and last but not least spend time talking with God each day. I hope you will read your bible and come to your own conclusion about baptism. I know that we as a church should not ridicule eachother for our doctrinal beliefs. Remember most of all that your relationship with God is a personal one and he is the only one who you are accountable to ,Not to the beliefs of men. Conlan4k
4 | Do you have to be baptized to be saved? | 1 Pet 3:21 | conlan4k@earthlink.net | 41621
You cannot be saved by doing good deeds. You cannot be saved by going to church. You cannot be saved by being an "A" student. You cannot be saved by baptism either. Salvation is yours as a gift of God. 1 Corinthians 15:3,4 Christ died on the cross for our sins according to the scriptures he was buried and rose again on the third day according to the scriptures. Romans 3:23 All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.John 1:12 But to all who received him, he gave the right to become children of God.All they needed to do was to trust him to save them. And last but definately not least Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of ourselves it is a gift of God.
