1 | what is jesus trying to explain | Luke 18:1 | childoftheking | 42912
Hello, I believe what the Lord was saying in using the cruel Judge is this..... If this cruel judge, who doesn't fear God or have any respect for man, helps this woman, even though for the wrong reasons, how much more will God who Loves his people, hear their cries and bring about justice for them. So don't lose heart, keep praying because God hears the prayers of his elect. It also might be that, in verse 7, Jesus was alluding to Rev. 6:9-11 Also read Luke 11:5-13 Sometimes people will help you just so they don't have to listen to you anymore but God is not like that. God helps us because he Loves us. When we pray, if we don’t get a reply from the Lord right away, don’t just give up and say something like: “ well I guess God doesn’t want to help me”. We are to keep praying. Matthew 7:7-11 Psalm 84:11 Love in Christ bgg |

2 | why do they say we are in the end times? | 2 Thess 2:3 | childoftheking | 41458
Hello Hopeful Lady, As far as I can tell, Paul did not think that they were in the end times, the Thessalonians did. 2Thes 2:2 "Not to allow your minds to be quickly unsettled or disturbed or kept excited or alarmed, whether it be by some [pretended] revelation of [the] Spirit or by word or by letter [alleged to be] from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has [already] arrived and is here." Amplified Read 2Thess 2 Actually, you should read 1Thes to see exactly what Paul told them in that first letter. This will help to better understand the reason for the second letter. "Some translations have that the day of Christ is at hand (KJV), but "The verb does not really mean to be at hand, but rather to be present." (Morris); the Thessalonians were not afraid that the day of the Lord was coming, but that they were in it." David Guzik. Who are "they" that your brother is referring to? bgg |

3 | Where was Jesus at during three days in | Luke 23:43 | childoftheking | 40976
Jesus’ Spirit was in Paradise. Jesus was preaching to the dead. 1 Peter 4:5 “but they will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6) For the gospel has for this purpose been preached even to those who are dead, that though they are judged in the flesh as men, they may live in the spirit according to the will of God." NASB 1 Peter 3:18 "For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for all, the Righteous for the unrighteous (the Just for the unjust, the Innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God. In His human body He was put to death, but He was made alive in the spirit, 19) In which He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20) [The souls of those] who long before in the days of Noah had been disobedient, when God's patience waited during the building of the ark in which a few [people], actually eight in number, were saved through water. 4 | Crusifiction of Christ | John 19:17 | childoftheking | 40770
I know you meant denominations but demonations is close (even though it's not a word) as it's right out of the pit of hell to teach that Jesus was not crucified on the cross. You should be asking the ones who are teaching that to provide you with scripture. Here's some more verses to compliment what heisthe1 posted. Hebrews 12:2 "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." KJV Thank you Jesus!! Phil 2:8 "And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." KJV Acts 5:30 "The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death by hanging Him on a cross." NASB (some translations say "tree") Acts 10:39 "We are witnesses of all the things He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also put Him to death by hanging Him on a cross." NASB Acts 13:29 "When they had carried out all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the cross and laid Him in a tomb." NASB 1 Peter 2:24 "and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed." NASB Praise God!!! bgg |

6 | more info. on baptism, what way we shoul | Matt 28:19 | childoftheking | 40329
Hello Jenna, The above words in the verse came straight from our Lord Jesus. For your sis n law to say that to be baptized in this fashion isn't right (I'm reading between the lines here) is not correct. This is the way Jesus commanded it be done. Other places in the Bible say in the name of The Lord (acts 10:48), or in the name of the Lord Jesus (acts 19:5), or in the name of Jesus Christ (acts 2:38). Some think that even though Peter said to be baptized in the name of Jesus that he actually did in fact baptize the way Jesus commanded them to do, "INTO the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." Or in other words, that Peter was saying to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ whereby meaning; "the way Jesus commanded it to be done". Personally, I believe that what Jesus said in the above verse is the way to baptize. Love in Christ bgg |

7 | Question not answered..... any help? | Mark 16:16 | childoftheking | 39908
Luke, Your question has been answered. As you well know, you posted your question on a Bible Study Forum. The first "rule" if you will is to support our answers with scripture and besides that, it’s the word of God that you have to hear in order for you to have something to “think about”. Your answer is in the Bible and in the verses that Kalos supplied in his post. If you have heard the Gospel as you say, then you know why we are all condemned if we do not believe on Jesus. There is only one Gospel. As Christians, we believe that every word written in the Bible is inspired by God. There are no assumptions here. God did create man, created with brains and the power to think and choose. Seeing as how man chose to disobey God from the beginning; God, being a God of Love, sacrificed His only Son and is giving us a choice as to whether or not we want to spend eternity with Him or spend it in the Lake of fire. The choice He gives us is whether or not to believe that Jesus is the son of God, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, shed His blood for the remission of our sins, and after 3 days rose triumphantly from the grave and is now sitting at the right hand of the throne of God. It’s as simple as that. As many times as you hear the word of our Lord Jesus, God is giving you the opportunity to use that brain, and heart and thinking power to either believe in the Lord Jesus or not. Christianity is not “following the crowd”, nor is it a religion. You want proof? How about Israel? It's just a little place. You think it hasn't been conquered by now because it's some Military Powerhouse? How about the existence of the universe? The big bang theory doesn’t prove it. How about the miracle of birth, the complexity of the human body? Darwin’s theory of evolution? I don’t think so. You have heard of the doubting Thomas? John 20:29 "Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed." I pray that you step out in Faith and believe in our Lord Jesus. I pray that you call upon Jesus and be saved. Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” bgg |

8 | when we die where do we go immediately | Bible general Archive 1 | childoftheking | 39656
Hello Pam, I don’t believe your question got the attention it deserved so I will attempt to answer it for you. You answered your first question. We do go directly to be with the Lord but notice the first part of that verse, 2Cor 5:8 "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord". KJV To be absent from the body: This means that when we die, our spirit leaves the body to be with Jesus. Now when Jesus comes back to rapture the Church, the dead in Christ will rise first. The Spirit of the dead in Christ will rejoin their bodies (The body cannot live without the Spirit. James 2:26) and the mortal body will become an immortal body, an incorruptible body; a spiritual body. Just as Jesus' body laid in the grave for 3 days as his Spirit was in Paradise (he was preaching to the Old Testament Saints.1 Peter 4:6). When he was raised from the grave, his Spirit reentered his body and this is how it will be during the Rapture. Read 1 Corinthians 15 but I will post verses 42 -54 in the Amplified version. 42) “So it is with the resurrection of the dead. [The body] that is sown is perishable and decays, but [the body] that is resurrected is imperishable (immune to decay, immortal). 43) It is sown in dishonor and humiliation; it is raised in honor and glory. It is sown in infirmity and weakness; it is resurrected in strength and endued with power. 44) It is sown a natural (physical) body; it is raised a supernatural (a spiritual) body. [As surely as] there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body. 45) Thus it is written, The first man Adam became a living being (an individual personality); the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving Spirit [restoring the dead to life]. 46) But it is not the spiritual life which came first, but the physical and then the spiritual. 47) The first man [was] from out of earth, made of dust (earthly-minded); the second Man [is] the Lord from out of heaven. 48) Now those who are made of the dust are like him who was first made of the dust (earthly-minded); and as is [the Man] from heaven, so also [are those] who are of heaven (heavenly-minded). 49) And just as we have borne the image [of the man] of dust, so shall we and so let us also bear the image [of the Man] of heaven. 50) But I tell you this, brethren, flesh and blood cannot [become partakers of eternal salvation and] inherit or share in the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable (that which is decaying) inherit or share in the imperishable (the immortal). 51) Take notice! I tell you a mystery (a secret truth, an event decreed by the hidden purpose or counsel of God). We shall not all fall asleep [in death], but we shall all be changed (transformed) 52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the [sound of the] last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [in Christ] will be raised imperishable (free and immune from decay), and we shall be changed (transformed). 53) For this perishable [part of us] must put on the imperishable [nature], and this mortal [part of us, this nature that is capable of dying] must put on immortality (freedom from death). 54) And when this perishable puts on the imperishable and this that was capable of dying puts on freedom from death, then shall be fulfilled the Scripture that says, Death is swallowed up (utterly vanquished (forever) in and unto victory." Hope this helps. Your brother in Christ, bgg |

9 | But Satan is our enemy, so how? | Matthew | childoftheking | 39019
The enemies, the ones that persecute us that Jesus was talking about in Matthew 5:44 are humans. Romans 12: 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. 17 Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. 19 Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord. 20 "BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Ephesians 6:12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." 1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." 1 John3:8 "He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. Peace in Jesus bgg |

12 | What is to be radiant? | Ps 34:5 | childoftheking | 38821
Greetings Jesse, "were raidant" radiant is from the Hebrew word 'nahar' which means to sparkle, i.e. (figuratively) be cheerful; hence (from the sheen of a running stream) to flow, i.e. (figuratively) assemble:--flow (together), be lightened, expressing joy Isaiah 60:4 "Lift up your eyes round about and see; They all gather together, they come to you. Your sons will come from afar, And your daughters will be carried in the arms" 5 "Then you will see and be radiant, And your heart will thrill and rejoice; Because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you,The wealth of the nations will come to you." Psalm 36:9 "For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light. Many besides David have looked unto God by faith and prayer, and have been lightened by it, It has wonderfully revived and comforted them;" witness Hannah, who, when she had prayed, went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad" MH You could probably use it in the way that a pregnant woman can "look radiant". 13 | Tell me about Mark. 11:20-24 | Mark | childoftheking | 38814
Hi Friendley, This passage is a parallel to Matthew 21:18-22 You have to go back to verse 11 to get Jesus' mind set. He went into the temple and "looked around at everything". Were the money changers there at that time? I don't know, maybe. On his way back to Jerusalem Jesus cursed the fig tree because it had no fruit. This is kind of a parallel to how the scribes and Pharisee’s present the outward appearance of Godliness but have nothing of God in their hearts, they bear no fruit. Likewise the Fig tree appeared to have fruit but was bearing leaves only and usually when there are leaves, there are figs. Then notice next that Jesus went into the Temple and drove out the money changers. Mark 12 Jesus points out the widow throwing in her two mites. Matthew 23 Jesus is speaking Woes unto the Scribes and Pharisees and how they “devour widows houses.” Matthew 24 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. This I belive is symbolic to the fig tree in that the fig tree was dried up by it's roots and Jesus is going to do the same thing with the system that the Scribes and Pharisees hold. Utter destruction is what "not one stone upon another" signifies. The other message from the fig tree is that if we have Faith in God, we can move mountains in our life. A mountain is representative of any insurmountable problem we might have in life. We don’t need to go around any mountains but we can move them as long as we have faith in God. Jesus says in verse 24, “"Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.” The main thing in that verse is “believe that you have received them”, which means you must believe the moment you pray for something that it will be done. Look at it in the Amplified Version 23Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. 24For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. However, you can’t stop at that verse. You have to read further to verses 25 and 26. We must not hold back forgiveness to anyone. If we Love Jesus, we must keep the Lords commandments (John 14:15). We must Love on another (John 16:17). We must abide in Jesus and have his Word abide in us (John 15:7). We are to “bear fruit”, fruit that is lasting [that it may remain, abide], John 15:16), then we will be granted what we ask as long as we believe. Love in Jesus bgg |

14 | Is good magic evil and a sin too? | Lev 19:31 | childoftheking | 38715
Hello Jane, God does not approve of anything to do with spells of any sort. Deut 18:10 "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 "For whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD; and because of these detestable things the LORD your God will drive them out before you." Leviticus 20:6 'As for the person who turns to mediums and to spiritists, to play the harlot after them, I will also set My face against that person and will cut him off from among his people" Stay clear of any of that junk as it's straight from the Devil. 15 | Ephesians 5:4 what is coarse joking? | Ephesians | childoftheking | 37685
Hello GME, Eph 5:4 "and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which Bare not fitting, but rather giving of thanks." Coarse jesting is from the Greek word "eutrapelia" from a derivative of the base of troph - trope (meaning well-turned, i.e. ready at repartee, jocose); witticism, i.e. (in a vulgar sense) ribaldry:--jesting. ribaldry: "Behavior or language bordering on indelicacy" It means, we shouldn't be involved in inappropriate joking, we are to abstain from raciness. Notice in the meaning it says "in a vulgar sense". God gave us a sense of humor. Our humor should not have to be censored. It should be fit for all observers. What we may have thought as funny before we were saved should not "tickle our funny bone" anymore. Neither should we listen to or read such things. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 "Abstain from evil [shrink from it and keep aloof from it] in whatever form or whatever kind it may be." Amplified 2Cor 5:17 “Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” In Christ bgg |

16 | speaking in tongue or other tongues | 1 Cor 14:1 | childoftheking | 37524
Hello Greg, This is a much debated subject and you can find many posts by typing in "speaking tongues" in the quick search window, top right of the page. There are tongues for personal edifictaion: 1Cor 14:2 "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries." 1 Corinthians 14:4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. KJV Tongues for interpretation: 1 Corinthians 14:5 "I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying" KJV Tongues for unbelievers: 1 Corinthians 14:22 "Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe." KJV 1 Corinthians 14:39 "Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues." I read a good book concerning this subject called " The walk of the Spirit, The Walk of Power" by Dave Roberson if you care to check into that. Love in Christ bgg |

17 | how do you grieve the holyspirit | Eph 4:30 | childoftheking | 37519
Greetings ssv.1 Grieve comes from the Greek word "lupeo" which means: to distress; reflexively or passively, to be sad:--cause grief, grieve, be in heaviness, (be) sorrow(-ful), be (make) sorry. If we read all around that verse, (start around verse 14 and read through to the end of the chapter)such as in the context of, we see that it refers to believers, who grieve the Spirit by inconsistencies as in corrupt or worthless conversation, 31)“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:” The Holy Spirit does not teach that and does not want to hear it or see it. "we must not do that which is contrary to his holy nature and his will; we must not refuse to hearken to his counsels, nor rebel against his government, which things would provoke him to act towards us as men are wont to do towards those with whom they are displeased and grieved," MH Love in Christ bgg |

18 | Am I lost for eternity because of sin | 1 John 1:9 | childoftheking | 37445
Dear Godchild, Sin has no place in anyone's life We all sin, but the thing is to not live in sin, to not go back and renew that sin in your life. Having said that, God will most certainly forgive you. "And my desire is to be pleasing in God's sight". This is a good thing to say and to know about yourself because it's really sinning against God when we do sin with the flesh because our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. 1John 2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;" Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. We all fall but see what God says here: Psalm 37:24 "Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth [him with] his hand." Philippians 1:6 "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus". According to Romans 8:35-39 "Neither tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will separate us from the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus". The only thing is, has Jesus begun a work in you? Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour? This is one question you must answer before any other. God also gives us a way out of temptation. 1 Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it." In 2 Peter 2:9 "then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment," Ask God to forgive you, break off entirely what you've been doing, confess your sin to your husband and walk in the Lord's presence. Finally, when you ask God to forgive you, trust him that he has forgiven you and don't beat yourself up about it. God does not want us dwelling on past sins. I can't remember where in the Bible that verse is but it's in there. I leave you with the Grace and Love of Jesus: John 8:7 "But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." 8 Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the center of the court. 10 Straightening up, Jesus said to her, "Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?" 11 She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more."] God Bless you bgg |

armgrunt, You said "I have a definintion of god by scrpture......I AM theTRUE SPIRIT of LOVE" I asked you where the verse is that says it and you say to look it up. Ok then, let's search. :-) We know that God is a Spirit: which you gave also. John 4:24 says "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth" We know that God is Love: 1 John 4:8 "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love" We know that God said "I AM" Exodus 13:4 "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." God is a God "OF" Truth: Deut 32:4, Psa 31:5 The Spirit is Truth: 1 John 5:6 "This is he that came by water and blood, [even] Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth." Jesus is the truth: John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." God's Word is truth: John 17:17 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." God is a Spirit, God is Love, The Spirit is Truth, Jesus is Truth, Jesus is God, God's Word is truth, Jesus is the Word, but I'm not so sure about "I AM the TRUE SPIRIT of LOVE." It sounds nice, it may even be so. I just like to see it written in the Word. With Love, bgg |

Hi Wakiio, The Bible has all the answers of how we're to live while on this earth. First and foremost, we are to submit ourselves to the Lord. Proverbs 31:10 "An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels" Proverbs 12:4 "A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones." 1 Peter 3 1) IN LIKE manner, you married women, be submissive to your own husbands [subordinate yourselves as being secondary to and dependent on them, and adapt yourselves to them], so that even if any do not obey the Word [of God], they may be won over not by discussion but by the [godly] lives of their wives, 2) When they observe the pure and modest way in which you conduct yourselves, together with your reverence [for your husband; you are to feel for him all that reverence includes: to respect, defer to, revere him--to honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and, in the human sense, to adore him, that is, to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband]. 3) Let not yours be the [merely] external adorning with [elaborate] interweaving and knotting of the hair, the wearing of jewelry, or changes of clothes; 4) But let it be the inward adorning and beauty of the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which [is not anxious or wrought up, but] is very precious in the sight of God. 5) For it was thus that the pious women of old who hoped in God were [accustomed] to beautify themselves and were submissive to their husbands [adapting themselves to them as themselves secondary and dependent upon them]. 6) It was thus that Sarah obeyed Abraham [following his guidance and acknowledging his headship over her by] calling him lord (master, leader, authority). And you are now her true daughters if you do right and let nothing terrify you [not giving way to hysterical fears or letting anxieties unnerve you]. 7) In the same way you married men should live considerately with [your wives], with an intelligent recognition [of the marriage relation], honoring the woman as [physically] the weaker, but [realizing that you] are joint heirs of the grace (God's unmerited favor) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and cut off. [Otherwise you cannot pray effectively.] Amplified version Read 1 Corinthians Chapter 7, Chapter 11: 1-16 Ephesians 5 Colossians 3 starting in verse 18 Porverbs 31 starting in verse 10 Love in Christ bgg |
