1 | what are benefits of corporate worship | Gen 11:6 | catjo | 202142
It seems to me there are only a couple of times that the Lord seemed to act quickly to prevent things from taking place. Once was when access was blocked from the tree of life, and the other time was when He confused speach at the tower of Babel. This second time was to prevent a people from being as one. Because they weren't trying to get to God with the tower. Instead they were trying to tower over God or, in other words they wanted to be above God. The reason this has anything to do with your question is a proving of united we stand divide we fall. When the Bablonians were united as one in one language or, one could say, the same voice. God said,"now NOTHING will be restrained from them , which they have imagined to do." KJV My belief is this, if a bunch of people who were trying to place themselves above God without a space rocket got His attention only because they were united in one belief. I think it is a pretty good indication they were onto something very powerful. And these folks were not believers of our God. So, how much more would this precept of being united in one belief during worship bennefit what we can imagine. Corporate worship is what was a common practice of God's people before going to war. Many times it confused the enemy even before battle. Look at Moses how the battle was being won when he held his hands up in worship. But when he got tired and his hands fell, and they started losing. Through the help of his sister and brother holding his hands up (corporate) to worship they began winning again. Corporate worship is so powerful to our God. It bennefits Him greatly. His scriptures even says, that a king is not a king without subjects. It blesses God that we put down our own selfishness and come togeter and worship the king as one body.(I'm not saying God is not God without our worship). Think how it pleases Satan when a stadium packed with thousands of concert goers come and sing songs that are of evil content exalting him. I often wonder does he say to God, look how they honor me. They even come together as one to worship my ways regardless if they are getting along or not. |

2 | before satan | Bible general Archive 3 | catjo | 183512
Hi,1dltlshines I had heard something along those lines as well. I tried to find anything that would alude to that story. The closest thing I could find that remotely could be construded as part of your Question is; in Ezekiel 28:13 in which God is addressing the prince of Tyrus. Where God says through the profit Ezekiel, "you have been in the garden of Eden....the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14 Thou art anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon on the holy mountain of God: thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee." The "pipes" as in the pipes of a musical instrament (pipe/organ) were inside this prince. I've heard this commentary said, that the word given, was about the spirit that was operating in the prince of Tyrus. Not the man himself. I would support this by saying God does not make cherubs and then turn them into men. Verse 14 states this spirit had been a cherub which is a kind of an angelic being/vision. And this angel who is no longer perfect according to verse 15. Which leads me to believe this is a fallen angel we are speeking about. To bring things back around to your Question. I'd have to say, IF a spirit such as Lucifere is being addresed here. This might be were your answer is, with support from other things we know about Satan. Ezekiel seems to be speaking of an angel/cherub who had been in the garden of Eden (of course Satan had been there too, Genesis 3:1), who had been perfect until the day iniquity had been found, and whos beauty and wisdom (worldly wisdom) made him to think that he is like God. I'd like to point out something I find interesting about verse 14 "Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy montain of God...." God is a God who is about protocol, organization and, purpose. And we find these qualities all here in verse 14: ANOINTED means God gave this cherub/angel the abilities, giftings and talents needed to carry out God's will in his "life". COVERETH means this cherub/angel is the covering or, the highest of the authority in the area he is called. Just as the husband is the covering for the wife and children. GOD set this cherub/angel in his place, this was God's will. God shared HIS HOLY MOUNTAIN with this angel/cherub. This cherub/angel was free to walk up and down the holy mountain. Isn't this what Satan did in Job 1:6 and 2:1,2 when He came in and out of the presence of God? Well, I would have to say Ezekiel 28:1-14 is a place to study. *...."and thy pipes was prepared IN thee...." I think this is where we get the term "internal organs" God Bless You and All. |

3 | what do the horns represent? | Bible general Archive 3 | catjo | 182518
One definition would be I believe, was the power of whoever it is being disussed in the scripture. AS in the figurative; of God's power Hab.5:4 Christ's power Rev 5:6 power of wicked ps 22:21 power of earthly kingdoms Dan 7:,8,24 power of antichrist Rev 13:1 When David was annointed to be King the preist, Samuel took a horn of oil and poured it over David in 1 Samuel 16:12 this where the spirit of the lord came upon David. Of course horns in the scripture also just explains what animals have them. And the blowing of horns for different things. Hope this partial answer helped. |

4 | Interpret tongues? | 1 Cor 14:13 | catjo | 180877
I apologize that I am unable to look up scripture right know. But look up the verse that essentially says, "First you sing in tongues, than you sing in your language. First you speak in tongues and then you speak in your language." I believe this scripture to be true. As this is whar it says. Now I know paul said that he would rather have us prophecy more than speak in tongues. I'd just like to say, that does not mean he does not find value in speaking in tongues. On the contrary, I think he was pointing out the fact that without tongues ther is nothing to interpritate. And to take it to the next level, if one were to speak in tounges and not interprit it. There would be no revlation value to others. When you or, someone else has an interpritation hold on to it, and remember it. If this matches the precepts or, the word of God. There is no chance of harm as you should believe God's ways anyhow. If you hear a specific word one that may be given and you feel it is personal to you. Then test the spirits behind the word. This could be done by cheking who the spirit/person calls Lord. If they say Jesus then consider the word. Another thing to take into consideration, is do you have peace in your gut about this word? I also believe some words that are spoken to us are meant to wake up something inside us. Such as a call on our life that we wouldn't take into consideration because of lack of belief of our abilities or, the like. Anyhow always pray about "words" that are given. I'd like to say that gifts are available. But not all have attained them. Otherwise scripture would not hold pastors or leaders accountable for the words given in the assembly of the people. If this giving of a word is supposed to be judged by the leader than one would suppose it is possible there could be a reason to judge it. Some pastors require the word to be given privately to themselves in order to judge the word before it is spoken before the congragation. This tends to make sense. As if you are called to judge the word before the people hear it. One might say the spirits moving I need to give it know. That may be your emotion. But scripture also says the spirits (the word given) are controlled by the prophet. In another words it can be given after the pastor/leader allows it. As this word may be from God. But, it might not be a corpraqte word or, even a word from God. |

5 | Who are the heads of the widows? | Eph 5:22 | catjo | 180522
Husband by definition; house-band. I look to Jesus to fill in where I'm lacking holding my marriage together. I think in the church family our pasters are the one that bands us together in the earthly realm. As a father figure and one who was choosen by God. He may be younger than us and, not in a personal relationship w/ us. But I think recognizing God's protocol keeps us in rightstanding with God to receive blessings.
