1 | Pointing out failures | Matthew | bridgetteciaj | 160536
I feel it's far better to ask questions and let the person figure out the answer themselves - you learn far better that way. Most people take exception to being "told" what to do. It is wise to ask questions and perhaps lead them to understanding the right answer. Ask, "why do you think that's the right answer." make them look at their reasoning. Jesus taught in parables because it gave people a way to relate to headier issues. It made them think and ask questions to understand. |

2 | salt and light | Matt 5:13 | bridgetteciaj | 160534
We are salt and light as Christians in a fallen world. Salt is a preservative. It keeps things from going bad. Thus, Christians are a restraining force on the world. Restraining from hedonistically persuing sin and debauchary with unabandoned lust. We are still the conscience of the world. One of the reasons so many believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the church (just to throw another idea into the pot). That the force preventing the anti-christ from having his way with the world is the believers still here, praying and acting on their faith. It is also used to add flavor to life. Truth and good character, making the right decisions, behaving the right way, give life flavor. They give it value. There are also notations about a Christians behavior (Matt 5:13) We are the light of the world. The world is darkness without us. We are hope to those stuck in the darkness. We are a beacon to those who search. Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Also, there is a great resource called www.BibleGateway.com. You can do scripture, key word and topical searches on it. I recommend you go there and try to reason some of these things out for yourself. When you allow the Holy Spirit to answer them, it's an awesome experience. |

3 | where can I find step out in faith | 2 Tim 2:15 | bridgetteciaj | 160529
One, the Holy Spirit is with you, so you always have God with you. Luke 12: 11-12 11"When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, 12for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say." John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Marked with a seal is something permanent. Like they marked slaves to identify them as their own. Ephesians 1:13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 2 Timothy 1:14 Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. (who LIVES in us - constant, always with us) Hope this helps... BB:) |

Does this have to apply only to the church? As a pastor used to say, All means all and that's all, all means.
