I can share how God has helped me understand this. I'm still a fairly new studier of the Bible. I think that Adam and Eve lived hundreds of years. It doesn't say that Cain and Abel were in their 20's to 40's where I think I am tempted to place them. Their younger siblings could have been over 100 at the time this occured. It just said "in the course of time". So their siblings could have easily populated the area around them and I'm satisfied that that is where his wife came from. During my question about the Nephilim I read somewhere that they were "fallen angels or beings" which may have been one of the reasons that God decided to destroy the world in the flood. I hope this might be of some help too. It's great you have these questions. I think God is really pleased when we dig deeper and think about what we read. I use commentaries when I have a verse that I question too. | ||||||
