1 | What´s mean unction? | 1 John 2:20 | YTY | 52609
It means anointing. Look at 1 John 2:20 in KJV and NIV. NIV uses the term "anointing" in place of KJV's "unction". Know the song, "Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning, burning, burning?" The stenza is also sung, "Give me unction in my gumption, keep me function, function, function ...."
2 | Matt 24:12 Pre or Pst Trib? End of Age? | Matt 24:1 | YTY | 52604
Dear Terri, Reading Mathew 24 in context, my opinion is that Jesus was speaking about the terrible destruction of Jerusalem that was going to take place in A.D. 70. Note verse 34 that the generation hearing His words would not pass away until all these things had happened. |

3 | How old is the earth? | Gen 1:1 | YTY | 52493
My answer is we simply do not know. The Bible gives us a dateless date for the creation in Gen 1:1. Various theories are held on the 6 days of creation. There is the age-day theory (usually hinged on 2 Pet 3:8) that believes the 6 days represent 6 long periods of time. And the Gap theory that believes there was a long gap between verses 1 and 2 of Gen 1. Then, there is the belief that the 6 days represented real one day one night days as we understand 24 hour days today. I believe in the 24-hour day theory, but am also able to appreciate the Gap theory which tries to reconcile geological discoveries with the biblical declarations. The age-day theory denies the miracle of creation by trying to harmonise the creation narratives with evolutionary theories. I have no problem with a 6,000 year old earth, if you work the chronology of the Bible backwards. I also have no problem with a 6 billion year old earth if the Gap theory is true. However, it is not important to me how old the earth really is. What I care about is to believe the Word of God that it was God who by deliberate acts brought the world into being. He might have created the universe with an appearance of age, mightn't He? How old was Adam when God made him? You would probably agree that he was created an adult, wouldn't you? How about the fish of the sea and the beasts of the land? If God had made man and creatures mature, would it not be possible that the entire universe was made with an appearance of age as well? From this point of view, the earth could be infinitely old if the LORD had chosen in His design to make it appear so. Perhaps in so doing, He confounds the wise of our age - since the world in its wisdom does not know Him (1 Cor 1:21). It is by faith that we understand that the universe was made at God's command (Heb 11:3).
