1 | displaying things of jesus | Ex 20:4 | Vannessa | 56951
Kathy, I believe I asked that same question once. Yet I have a cross in my house, I wear a cross at times, etc. I do not think of those items as any kind of graven image, but something that reminds me that I'm a Christian and anyone else who may walk into my house. I don't believe those kinds of objects can be deemed as idols unless you yourself actually worship them as such. And I do not feel threatened of my salvation in anyway for having them. Anyway just my personal opinion. Laters, V |

2 | The appearance of Jesus described? | Is 53:2 | Vannessa | 56936
Since I was very young I was taught that according to the history of the area and the physical nature of Jesus' genealogy, that he was of a fairly dark complexion but very average looking in appearance. Nothing outstanding or handsome to speak of. Thank you for the response, I suppose throughout history artists have depicted Jesus as looking more like the people of their own culture. And why not, if they believe Jesus to be like themselves. It seems natural. Just some thoughts, but I think it would be an interesting historical study regarding Jesus' lineage and the physical appearance of Mary's family, etc. Take care, V |
