1 | Christians living together outside of ma | 1 Corinthians | TruthInGod | 194120
I have to say this, PutGodFirst. I believe, from the information you've given, that with such an outright rebellion from your child that he is doing wrong. Are you doing wrong by showing your disapproval? I don't think so. For Paul says to the Corinthians to expel thy immoral brother! However, I also have to take this into account. I believe it to be true of most Christians, but I will not say for all because I do believe in the rare Christian who truly does abstain from outright rebellious sin. I have had outright open rebellion against God in my life. Yes adultry, yes drugs, yes lying. Perhaps you will desregard my message because of that? I hope not. The point I have to make is this...if my in-laws had refrained from my wedding because of my adultry, I would have been hurt. But because I have the Spirit of God I would have seen that they were only doing what God asked. If your son wanted to give everything to God and truly do his will, he would submit to what you have asked, and that is seperate housing accomodations. I asked for my wife's hand in marriage, and listened when they said to wait another year. Instead, he has tried to justify himself with lies. So what if he's not actually sinning and adulterating, the impression he gives says otherwise, and is thus disregarding the Lord! People say that what you're doing isn't showing love. However, the rebellious child in the old testament was to be put to death. I suppose God didn't show love? The openly rebellious "Christian" in the new church is to be booted out and excommunicated. I think we try to look at only the ooshy gooshy love song part of God's love, and try to forget that love has to be fair, just, and even harsh sometimes. However, if your son does repent after being married, I believe your relationship should return to normal. |

2 | Explain Heb. 10:26 | NT general Archive 1 | TruthInGod | 193775
The advice I give to anyone who asks about these passages, as with anything pertaining to salvation, is to sit down and pray to God for wisdom. Clear out any other things you've been told by anyone else, and just look solely to God for the answer. Ask yourself this question. Is God a God of confusion? He is not, He will lead you in the right direction! However, know that this is what I believe God spoke to me through this passage in Hebrews. Others will without a doubt tell you something different on this board. Take into account what they say, and compare it to the Bible and what God shows you. If you read all of Hebrews, you see the thrust of the message is about Jesus Christ's high authority, and how He was the perfect sacrifice. Then, periodically you see warnings against falling away. This passage is one of them. I think the author goes to great lengths to describe vividly someone who has salvation, but has turned it away. Just like the Israelites had the promise, the salvation, of the Promised Land, but rebelled. If you are in doubt that they are speaking to someone who is saved, read verse 29....which says this... "How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that HAS SANCTIFIED HIM." Let's see, the new covenant that has sanctified me, that is the covenant of Jesus Christ. If I haven't accepted it, I haven't been sanctified, I haven't been saved. Therefore, the passage speaks about a Christian who is saved, but through a life of active rebellion turns away the living God. Now then, can Christ's sacrifice still save you? Well, it is impossible for a person to be brought back to repentance, because if it were possible Christ would have to be re-crucified. What does that say to me? Since Christ is the sole authority of giving people the ability to have a repentive heart, he wouldn't give it to someone who had with finality turned Him away. However, to the one whom He still offers a chance, He reminds them of repentance, and His son's sacrifice. Do I believe in the fallen Christian? Yes I do. |

3 | witness to neighbors about Jesus Christ? | NT general Archive 1 | TruthInGod | 193774
Crank up "Jesus Freak" on your stereo!!! I'm just kidding, please do not heed that advice! However, think of it this way. There are some people living next to you that are inside a ring of fire that is constantly pressing in on them. Time is of the essence always, this world will not lead them in the right direction, it will just let them burn! So therefore I say consult the Spirit first, and be bold about whatever it is you do! I tend to lean more to blatant, open honesty myself...but I do not wish to hinder the Spirit in your decision. Ask yourself, when did Jesus ever just say "Let them come to me because they see that I do good, and then I will proclaim the message to them." No, he lived a good life and those in need he proclaimed the gospel to. I've seen it work both ways, but what if today you invite them over for dinner, showing your kindness, and tomarrow they die? You had today to proclaim it to them, but you didn't! Just be very, very careful in your decision, and do not stifle the spirit. Bold proclomation may be exactly what they need. Not, "Turn to Jesus or burn in hell!" but "There is a loving God who sent His son." --Your brother in Christ |

4 | DOES GOING 2 CHURCH SAVE U? | Acts 16:31 | TruthInGod | 193765
My dear friend, if you don't make it to church on a Sunday you are not condemned to go to Hell...it sounds like you are a little bitter about this situation, huh? Lol! First of all, we need to understand that Church in the bible doesn't reference a building or a special place but a body of 'believers' Go here: http://www.biblegateway.com/resources/dictionaries/ Look up church, and find church in the list. It will help you define what a church really is. However, the Bible does counsel us to meet together as believers, for our own benifit. Nowhere, that I know of, does it say that if we don't meet together we can't be saved! However, active rebellion against the spirit in you, if it is leading you to go to church, is never a good thing! (Hebrews 10) 25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Sometimes people say some pretty horrible things, and sometimes people interpret what people say wrongfully. Always take into consideration that perhaps you misunderstood, unless it was very obviously stated! If that is the case, then forgive! |
