2 | Mrk16:17/Act2:11 what's the difference | Mark 16:17 | TerryM | 3916
In this reference, to speak with a "new" tongue means that those who believe, accept Christ and have been anointed with the power of the Holy Spirit, will have a new message...the message God has given them. They will no longer speak the same things or have the same thoughts. God will order their tongues and tell them what to say. To speak "in" tongues, is to have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and will speak in their own language. This is a language that satan can not understand. Speaking in tongues is for the purpose of edifying and exhorting. If the message is for you, there will be someone present to interprete for you. If they message is the church or whole gathering, then someone will interprete to them. Speaking in tongues and praying in your own prayer langauge is different. Prayer language is the language that you use to pray when not praying a public prayer. If you were asked to do the invocation at a service, you wouldn't pray in your prayer language...no one would understand and that would not be edifying to the group. |

3 | Could there be a greater calling? | Acts 22:14 | TerryM | 3067
It is possible. Just tell him to ask for clarity and stay open and listen to the voice of the Lord. If the Lord has a job for him to do, He will give him the directions. I pray that he is obedient to the spirit. God Bless!
4 | shl wife take blame for husb's wrong's | 1 Sam 25:24 | TerryM | 3063
This verse has nothing to do with the wife taking the blame for her husband...dont' take it out of context. 1 Samuel 25 is recounting the story of a wife faithful to God and fears the wrath of the Lord (v. 14-17). She is simply trying to keep harm from coming to her house. she is pleading her husband's cause before David...she is being the peacemaker. if a husband or wife ha sbeen given all the information, knows the difference between right and wrong, knows about God and our Savior Jesus Christ and still refuses to be in the will of God, then he/she stands alone before God and answers to only his/her wrongdoings. We can't caved anybody else or go to hell for them. You get to heaven or hell on your own. All we can do is present people with the information, accepting and acting on it is up to the individual. |

5 | May we claim rewards for tithing? | Mal 3:10 | TerryM | 2464
If God said it then we should take Him at his word. He has never failed yet. This is the only thing that God has asked they we test Him on, "and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it". |

6 | 3 days and 3 nights and Sabbaths | Matt 12:40 | TerryM | 2353
I believe Jesus is the Son of God , sent to die for our sins...He was crucified, buried and rose from the dead and will come back again. I feel (and this is my opinion)that exactly what day He was crucified, what day and time He arose, etc. is irrevelent. Sometimes we get caught up in all the details and we miss the point. (I am not referring to anyone here) I just feel that if the day, time and all that was to hold a specific level of importance, It would have said so in the scriptures. I know there are those that would adamantely opposed what I am saying. I too think this is interesting discussion, I just dont' want to miss the point. |

7 | 'Break up our fallow ground?' | Hos 10:12 | TerryM | 1909
Fallow ground refers to land that is unproductive...not yeilding fruit. He is saying to do all things with Christ in mind and strive toward salvation. Rain is used figuratively. Like "showers of blessings". He will pour out His righteousness on those who seek Him and do His work. |
