1 | God has given to us eternal life | 1 John 2:25 | Susannany | 144953
The New Living Translation says it this way, And this is what he promised us–even eternal life. I personally think it sounds even better. I believe that the He Himself is Jesus. |

2 | Baptism | Matt 3:11 | Susannany | 144952
I am not totally sure what you are looking for in Baptismal regeneration. Matthew 3:11 in the NLT says “I baptize you with[a] water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. Before Jesus came there was no other way for people to repent of their sins. John who is the forerunner of Jesus was given authority from Heaven to Baptise people thus being a way for people to repent. Now that Jesus has come and died on the cross and paid the price for our sins we must go to him in order to be saved, to repent. We no longer get our salvation from water, but through Jesus Christ himself. It is still good for people to be baptised but you definitely are not going to miss Heaven if you don't. The repentent thief on the cross was baptised and Jesus said they would be together in Paradise. If you get baptised it is simply a public confession that you are saved, that you are now a child of God. Old things are passed away, behold all things become new. |
