1 | In heaven are we male or female? | Bible general Archive 3 | Shythiyl | 168386
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:27-28 I have no reason to think it will be anything other in heaven. There is a fictional character on "Star Trek The Second Generation" who has assumed the shape of man. In essence, on his home planet his species are one. They are depicted as some sort or liquid. In our carnal mind we, cannot comprehend heaven. However, except concerning the depiction of us, the Church, as the bride, unlike Star Trek's "shape shifter," scripture does depict individualism, but not gender, other than when refering to God the Father and Jesus the Son. Instead of individually focused love as we now know it, I feel, our love in heaven will be as the people of the shape shifter depicted above. We will love, and be loved by Everyone and Everything. A love, man cannot currently comprehend. Why then would there be a need for marriage? There will be no need for reproduction. Companionship will be as common as the very air we now breathe. |

2 | Lord's Supper | Bible general Archive 3 | Shythiyl | 168378
When they get hungry... No, that's supposed to be funny. Ha, ha. Scripture makes no allusion to when such an observance is to be made. Why do we pay so much attention to that which is so insignificant? Then so little to that which is able to glorify. Just wondering |

3 | why is it hard to get an answer to your | Prov 1:28 | Shythiyl | 168376
Because they didn't listen when they had the opporitunity. |

4 | Can anyone speak in tonges | 1 Cor 13:1 | Shythiyl | 167624
Tongues, just like preaching/teaching, is a gift. All do not posess the same gifts. We are told to pray for certin gifts, yet we do not always pray for what we should.
5 | motive or love? | 1 Cor 13:1 | Shythiyl | 167619
Are we really to have motive? Motive is something (as a need or desire) that causes a person to act. I should think that love itself is motive. Without love, religion is worthless. I think you may be asking is a Christian supposed to have a reason to love. We love because we are loved. Not that we are nessisarily loved by those we are to love, but because God first loved us. We are no more deserving of the love of God, than the most vile and wretched individual we are to love. It is hard for us to love those whom we dislike. We are not asked to love their ways, only the person. God loves the sinner, not the sin. Jesus did not come for the sake of the saved, but the unsaved. Nowhere does scripture say that it is easy to be a Christian. The world hated Jesus. It will also hate us, but we are not of the world. |

7 | thats how i understand in Ephesians | Judg 16:5 | Shythiyl | 166812
What grieves the Lord today is the lost, and those who so proudly talk the talk, yet fail to walk the walk, resulting in many remaining lost, when they could have been guided to the path of salvation.
8 | money | Matt 6:24 | Shythiyl | 166811
If by money, you mean wealth, which relates to the same thing, consider the following. Matthew 6:24; Luke 16:9, 11, 13; The word "mammon" In KJ, means wealth. |

9 | trying to understand the bible better | Judg 16:5 | Shythiyl | 166755
As to your question concerning Sampsons, "bride to be" wasn't it? It's been a long time since I read it and I don't remember him actually marrying her. But either way, it would appear that Delilah posessed what many women today posess in excess; the ability to entice man. Scripture itself explains Delilah's manipulative manner. So... What more can be said. I fail to understand your question. What I really don't understand is why Sampson was so gulliable as to give her what she wanted after what happened the first and second time he teased her with his untrue answers. Now that is a lesson men SHOULD learn from. Stupid! comes to mind. Stupidity never ceses to amaze me. Particularily when it is my own. |

11 | Is Satan in heaven or on earth right now | Eph 6:12 | Shythiyl | 166746
Well, he most assuredly is not in heaven. I believe he is accoustomed to a much hotter climate, and God has no desire for his company, but is Satan on earth? I think not. Physically anyway. His influences most assuredly are though. I can't think of any, but I would like to see if any can provide scripture contrary to my statement. |

12 | ... | John 1:1 | Shythiyl | 166744
I am sure that if it didn't contain the comlete text of each of the four versions, it would say so somewhere in the preface. If you are wanting to understand the Word or verify the validity of translation, the best thing to do is get you a Hebrew, Greek, English Interlinear translation, and compair your parallels to the translations under the original scrolls. Get a regular Bible. KJ, NIV, NASB, Amplified or whatever. Check out how many books and chapters in each book yours has compaired to it. Boy!!! I'd bet that you either have good eye sight, or a good magnifying glass, (for that parallel has to either be mighty big, or have very small print.) I have a parallel KJ and NIV. It's print is only adequate. The best parallel anything I have ever seen will, without a doubt, cost less than what you paid and have numerous more versions. It is eSword. It is to scripture, what Windows is to the computer. AND IT IS FREE FOR THE DOWNLOAD at esword.com. There are some, such as the NASB which cost, but dozens of other translations, along with dictionaries and numerous commentaries, which are absolutely free. I have seen software programs which weren't nearly as good, for hundreds of dollars. It's search engine is awsome. For some reason, I feel I haven't, but I hope I have helped. |

13 | Elusive Verse | 1 Cor 12:27 | Shythiyl | 166742
Well, I've never heard it put quite like that, but I guess it could be. You must be refering to the feference to the Church as the body of Christ. 1Co 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. The Amplified bible (see verse above post) puts it quiet clearly Also check out Romans 7:4; 1 Corinthians 10:16; 12:27; Ephesians 4:12; When I see two Christians bickering, I often picture the hand slaping the foot because it is uglier, or the fingers lower rating the toes for being short and stubby. |

14 | dwelling in unclean temple? | 1 Cor 3:16 | Shythiyl | 166685
Nowhere, in those particular words. 1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? God does not dwell in the sinner. The blood of Jesus has cleansed the believers temple. Act 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, Hope I have been of some help. |

15 | Equal with Jesus? | Matt 12:50 | Shythiyl | 166457
Someone has misunderstood scripture. The Church is the body of Christ. He is the head. To be equal to Jesus would be, to be able to get along without Him. Can the hand replace the head? I think not. No doubt, some doctrines may teach such, but such teaching is straight from the mouth of the enemy. It sounds like "Secular Humanism." I can't remember where, But I seem to remember Jesus stating "I no longer call you servants, but brothers." Perhaps this is where such a mistaken statement came from. |

19 | long term mixture of faith and unbelief? | James 1:15 | Shythiyl | 166075
Do you have faith that unbelievers will spend eternity in Hell fire and damnation due to their unbelief? This seems a harsh answer, but it is true. Just exactly what is your unbelief? Is it that God exists, that His Son died to pay the penalty for the sins of those such as yourself and me? Could it be you find it hard to believe that a loving and merciful God would allow pain and misery, or that He would allow someone to spend eternity in damnation for spawning His Sons sin payment? Faith and unbelief are comprable to water and oil. Either you believe, or you don't. Either you don't, or you do. Which is it? Could it possiably be that you believe, yet you can't imagine personal forgiveness because you know the vile wickedness of your sinful way? |
