1 | Are you intersted in Bible translations? | Bible general Archive 1 | SavedandSure | 33051
As long as God is in charge, you need never fear anything about "a loss of the intended meaning of the writer" when attempting to make passages understandable!" How many versions have come and gone...and how many people did each one reach at his or her own level of understanding before "fading from the scene?" I would venture to guess a great many souls have given their lives to Jesus because someone cared enough to make a bible more "understandable" for them. Once one becomes a Christian..."saved and sure"...then they can begin the path often traveled of learning how to grow in the faith..."milk vs. solid food." God will direct the reader in His Word, and the Holy Spirit will refine and guide them as to "word meanings" word by word, verse by verse. And folks, God really doesn't need our paltry efforts at suggesting that our way, or the highway is the best solution in these matters of translations for the common massess! He will make it all come together for all those who know and love Him...and in His own way and time. |

2 | Life Application Study Bible any good? | Bible general Archive 1 | SavedandSure | 30989
Hi...I can tell you without equivocation, that in my humble opinion, the Life Application Bible is one of the very BEST study and general reading aids to come along in a long time. I have the LAB in two versions; New International, and the New Living Translation. I am searching for the LAB in the New American Standard Bible (updated edition) as well. The study notes alone are well worth the effort, but this study aid goes way beyond that. You owe it to yourself to at least look at one, then make the decision based on YOUR personal impressions and particular study needs! |
